Black-capped Chick-a-dee

Such a sweet little bird

with such a large shadow! His song is a clear "fee-bee-ee".

Aren't the chickadee's sweet? His shadow makes him look like he has the beak of a woodpecker - how adorable.

Hi Deb,
I really like the chick-a-dees. They zip in and out at the feeders and are around all year. I love their song and the little call they make. This one amazed me! He perched up on the deck rail for a long time. I find getting good photos is hard; often I cannot get their eyes. The light has to be just right. I liked the way the shadow looked too. Very woodpecker-ish!
I am so smitten by the birds.
