Clearwings are here on sunny days.
I have been reading about the Monarchs.
This is a male.
The black spot on the hind wing is a scent scale.
The male releases pheromones during courtship.
I have been seeing Monarchs gliding high in the sky.
Perhaps some have begun to migrate.

Dear Sherry....what delights you have there.....so many beautiful butterflies, your days must be full of joy.........when I see a butterfly in my garden I always think of you now......your heart must be a little sad getting ready to say goodbye.......
I'm with Cheeyl:
There's not a butterfly that passes that I don't think of you!
Have a wonderful week; and thanks for making our world a little more beautiful.
Love, V.
I meant to write Cheryl. My sincere apologies to you, Cheryl.
My fingers sometimes get away from me!
Thanks again Sherry, for all that you share with all of us. :)
I love that photo of the Clearwing Sherry! Beautiful!
Gorgeous photos, Sherry! I always enjoy visiting here. It's inspiring.
Precious...

I haven't seen any monarchs as yet - well maybe one or two. Lovely pics. The colours are so clear.
Thanks for the poem on my blog. I'll have to think of one for next time. L0L!
Have a wonderful week.
I too have noticed Monarchs moving Sherry. They really like the wild milkweed.
Dear Cheryl,
I do love the butterflies, all of them. Thank you for thinking of me and them. Caring for the butterflies is caring for the health of Mother Earth.
Every year,at the close of summer, I go through a poignant time. I know I still have 6-8 weeks left to dance with the bees and the butterflies and I want to spend every minute outside with them. I have to remember that the birds are a delight in the winter and the snows are always so beautiful. I also must reassure myself that the butterflies will return. I must remember the bees will be back next Spring.
Always a wee sad as summer draws to a close. It is because I love them so very much.

Dear Wendy,
I laughed so hard!!! Thank you for the romantic evening...I still am laughing.
Sherry
Dear Lisa,
Yes they do!
I have let lots of it grow in my yard this year and the bees are also loving the blooms.
The Monarchs are out in force around here. I do think migration has begun. Dragonflies migrate too.

In my opinion you're the perfect butterfly photographer, a real artist in this domain. What kind of tele lens do you use? Your pictures are so "sharp" and "near", as if you would be next to the butterflies. Do you find them all in your garden?
Dear Barbara,
Thank you. I am honored you give me such a fine compliment. I do love the butterflies and hopefully that shows in the pictures. Almost all of the butterflies here on "Corner" are in my backyard. Sunday Safari is ususlly out in the wild someplace near my house. I did take an overnight trip to a couple of Botanical Gardens this weekend.
I have three lens for my camera. I can take pictures from 18-500x. For my anniversary my husband gave me a macro lens. We ordered it and it should be here next week. Now I can get really close!
Thank you Barbara...I do love the butterflies.
Sherry
