It seems very early.
Perhaps it is global dimming in my backyard.
Walking in my backyard is walking with Butterflies.
I enjoy them very much.
I decided to start a life butterfly list.
It will be like my bird list.
I also decided to join the Xerces Society.

A Little Wood Satyr. What a lovely name... :-)
I too am seeing changing leaves. But it is near mid August so maybe we shouldn't be surprised. I know, it's always a bit of a shock though, isn't it? Seeing the first changing leaves.. -sigh-
And around these parts, we didn't have as many of the usual spurts of heat, this summer. No need to install all the window A/C units. So different. Where did Global Warming go?
But it has been weather, to consider plans for building an ark. ,-)
Maybe it's just fluctuations. I'm old enough to remember many weather fluctuations, in my lifetime. :-)

Dear Sherry......this post made me think of autumn.....my dogwood is still green, although autumn is definately not far away....
your butterflies are delight ful....so very very pretty....
Dear Mari-Nanci,
I knew it was a Satyr when I saw her because I look at the pictures in my butterfly book all the time.
It seems early to me to see leaves changing...my firebush also is showing a blush. I love the cooler mornings.
I think we have global climate change...some areas are wetter or hotter.
The light is different than a month ago; change is happening.

Dear Cheryl,
I would not mind an early Autumn that lingers deep into winter! I find I am looking for signs that the seasons are starting to change. The male Gold Finches molt and change into their Winter colors. I am watching them too.
Yesterday was a big butterfly day.
The Tigers and Giants come off and on all day. The Red-spotted and the Black looked very pretty I thought. I have a couple more months with the butterflies.
Sherry
