Veteran's Day

For our celebration I made pear pastries.
Almost as good as pie.

My book tonight is a cook book.
I am cooking a new recipe on Wednesday nights.
I think we will have a savory pie tomorrow night.

My new slippers are warm.

The weather is to warm up a bit.
I am looking forward to Indian Summer.
Maybe I will see a bee or a butterfly.
I miss them already!

Pear Pasteries and warm Tootsies are quite the pair. Both are beautiful as well as nourishment for the soul.

I've never had a pear pie or pastry but it sounds so good. Now I have to find some pears;)

Dear Deb,
I really am having so much fun~!
The pears were a gift from a friend of my husband. He gave us a huge box of home grown, yummy pears. I have been in pear heaven!
November is pie month at my house. I am gathering all my pie stuff not only for decorating but also to cook with.
Yummy!

Dear Marnie,
I made up my recipe for pear pastries. I could not find anything in my cookbooks so I just winged it. Soooo tasty!
I love pears too.
Enjoy,
Sherry

Dear Anna,
If the ladies in WWI could make pies in the dugouts I figured I could do something interesting in my kitchen.
Strong and brave women they were.
Spoilt and coddled am I!

Dear Mimi,
Thanks! I am loving my felted wool slippers. Very comfortable! I sewed them up with parachute silk thread, strong and pretty thread.

Dear Cheryl,
Thank you! If I opened a shop I would have to SELL my pretty slippers....maybe I could just encourage everyone to "up-cycle" an old wool sweater or coat into a pair of wooly slippers! I am promoting re-use, full use...I made a flower out of the handmade binding. My next slippers will be in silk and I hope to make bees for the toes!
Lewis is a wonderful cookbook writer. I enjoy reading her recipes.
Hugs,
Sherry

Dear Mary,
