Sitting with Daffodils

The daffodils on the south side of the gardens are opening.

A few of the all white opened this morning.

I will be leaving the daffodils for a week.

I took my lunch outside.
I sat with the daffodils.

We planted our potatoes last evening.

They are mulched and waiting for the spring rains.

I am packed and ready to go.

The forecast is for rain in Portland, Oregon.

I do not mind.
I am going to see my daughter.

I have my book for the plane.
I hope to be inspired.

We have our plans for the eight days we will be away.

We will visit a Kite Museum.

Kites are good.

I will be celebrating the first day of Spring with my daughter.

May you have a happy Spring equinox.

I am up, up and away.

Yeah!

Dear Lavender Dreamer,
Thank you!
I am trying to settle down but I am so excited! I have not seen my daughter for 15 months!!!
Way too long to go without a daughter hug!
I will post when I return and come visiting your journal.
Rain or shine I do not mind...

Dear Cheryl,
Spring is a special time for you! Not only do you celebrate your birthday but also your son's special day. It is a joyful time of year. All of this for you plus the bees are back! I too love Spring!
I have a bit of anxiety about flying. I am sure all will be fine.
I have some trail mix for the plane and my books and writing pens.
Thank you for holding me safe!

Have a beautiful visit with your daughter. Sorry that you have to experience some of our northwest weather. But its a unique thing to be part of in its own way. How long do you get to visit?

Anonymous said...

It's always forcasted to rain in the northwest :) It's wonderful that you will be with your daughter for the spring equinox. Portland should have more flowers blooming than us. Look for the Indian Plum in bloom and maybe the Salmonberry. Some of our brush is just now beginning to leaf out.

Love the daffodils.

Sherry,
I was thinking, how can you bear to leave the daffodils, until I read that you are visiting your daughter! For that, I would leave the daffs, too!!
Safe trip, and take lots of photos there, so you can share them with us. I love the way you see the world!!

Dear Dowhatyoulove,
I will be staying eight days....I do not care if it is rainy or not...it is the Northwest!
I may not get many photographs if it is rainy....I am looking for the water color look so who knows!

Sherry

Dear Bernie,
You are right...who knows!
Thank you for the plants to look for. I did a google search so I know what I am looking for. My daughter is a city girl so I do not know if she knows the trees and shrubs of the PNW yet!
I love the Salmonberry...salmon is my trip motif this time!
Happy Spring!

Dear Judy,
Thank you! I will be taking macro and telephoto photographs this time. I hope to have some pictures when I return.
I have thousands of Daffodiles in my yard...I do need to divide again too. I have a flower bed my husband put in a couple of years ago for me that needs some...I like all the beds to have their daffs. It is one bulb the squirrels will not bother...my tulips are inside rings of daffs to keep them safe from the squirrels! LOL! I trick them.
Happy Spring!
Sherry

Nice flowers, I am trying a bit of windowsill container gardening myself. Not too much luck, though.
