Crazy for the pansy

I am crazy for pansies.

My window boxes are full of dancing Pansies!

As long as the temperatures stay cool the pansies will flourish.

I did up a gourd to take to my friend.

While I was working Chipping Sparrow came near.

The cool temperatures have kept the

daffodils and the tulips in bloom.

I am enjoying this cool, wet Spring.

The tulips will close up at night and open during the day.

The violets are also in bloom.

I am Spring time girl.

The gourd planter is a great idea. Your chair looks to be a wonder spring place to sit in the garden!

Dear Marmee,
I don't always plant many pansies since it warms up here so fast in the spring. This year it has stayed cool and the pansies are loving it!
The flat and 1/2 I bought on Sunday potted up nicely. My window boxes are full and to me they just look like Spring! The rocking chair on the patio is one of my perches! I sit there when it is too sunny to be on the deck.
I enjoy seeing all your Spring blooms. I almost could smell your lilacs.

Dear Chris,
I love using different "pots" to take to friends. The gourd can be planted with the pansies right in it.
The rocking chair is comfortable but sometimes the birds get upset. I am too near the jelly and oranges!

Dear Sheila,
Thank you. I have too many dried gourds. It is time to use them up and grow some more!

How lovely your spring garden is!! I didn't realize pansies needed cool to survive. Maybe that's why mine often die mid-summer. Too hot and dry. Hmmmm.

I love your gourd planter. What a nice gift.
Happy gardening!

Beautiful! It's so nice to be outside more! My pansies have survived the winter and look good this Spring! It's the first year I've had them all winter long!

It's almost as if the Pansy's are inviting us into a magical world of discovery.

The tulips are lock torches that brighten the day to higher levels of feeling.

I do just absolutely ADORE you and your blog!!!!! :) You are most definitely 'sunshine' in my world, and I just want to let you know how very much I appreciate you and your style. You bring rainbows to my life even in the midst of the rain. :)

Your pansies are just gorgeous! I too love pansies, and oh those little johnny jump-ups that that dance and scatter across the yards are so precious to my heart. :)

Now, a question---I ABSOLUTELY LOVE those yellow shoes and that hat!!! Can you point me in the direction of purchasing them for myself??? :)

Dear Wendy,
Pansies are cool weather plants for me. They are not hardy in my zone. If it gets into the 80's my pansies begin to get leggy and fade. By July they are over!
Often we will warm up in April and all the sweet cool weather plants like primroses and pansies are over before they even get to be enjoyed!
My spring coat is getting a work out this year!

Dear Lavender Dreamer,
Wow! Pansies that over winter. That would be very nice. I am lucky if I have pansies for a month!
It IS nice to be outside more. We have had lots of rain so I am very much enjoying dry, sunny days when we get them!

Dear Bernie,
The pansies have captured my heart this year.
I like en-mass plantings but since the rabbits like the tulip bulbs I plant them in with daffodils. My rabbits do not like the daffs. The tulips this year seem to be deeper red. This Spring seems more intense. Already so many have had severe weather. Our tornado season will kick off soon. It is exciting!

Dear Angie,
Thank you! Blush..blush...
My yellow boots came from Eddie Bauer. The rain hat I bought on line. I do not remember where I found it. I googled "rain hat" and did my shopping. I also have a yellow slicker and a yellow umbrella! I love yellow for rain gear!
The little violas are charming. I have wild violets in my yard and I adore them. I like them in salads!
Eating flowers is one of my favorite parts of Spring!
Looking forward to catching up with you on your journal.
Namaste,
Sherry

Isn't it always tornado season on earth. :) Isn't it that what makes the world go round and round and round. Will you be side stepping the tornado's or will you step into the middle of them and watch everything and everybody spin dizzily about you?

I ate some yellow stream violets on our walk yesterday. They have a hint of bubblegum flavour to them.

I am crazy for pansies as well :-)They are the first "sign of Spring" here when they arrive at the Nursery. What a lovely spot you have to sit in the garden and enjoy birds, bugs and blooms!
