When it is cold I will wrap up and sit outside on the deck with my coffee or hot tea. It is my solitude time. It is how I connect.
I love the talking skies too. Sun dogs mean ice is in the air. I knew we would be having cold, rainy or snowy weather within 48 hours. There are Moon dogs too. They are rare. My husband watches the skies. By mid winter last year I had up to 3o! I think all the Cardinals were successful with their broods this past summer. I could have a huge flock of Cardinals if the weather turns cold and icy.
I was reading about how and when the Cardinal began moving north. They are dependant on our feeders now. If I am late getting seeds out the Cardinals will come to the window sill and let me know!
I love them.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-72896676060786464332008-11-11T07:57:00.000-06:002008-11-11T07:57:00.000-06:00Dear Deb,Snow??? Not too far from my house there is a butterfly indoor habitat. I plan on visiting. I also am felting and creating fun hats and bags. Yesterday I decided to learn a new to me, old seventeenth century, form of embroidery called stumpwork. I want to create 3-d bugs with beads and thread for my felt!
It is raining this morning. I will put my rain gear on soon and feed the birds. I do hope we have birds all winter!
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-42557307503121934922008-11-10T20:39:00.000-06:002008-11-10T20:39:00.000-06:00It was overcast and rainy here, but today (Monday)...It was overcast and rainy here, but today (Monday) we had the sun. One advantage I've found in the leaves falling is that you can see the birds so much more clearly.

The juncos are sweet; I'm wondering if they are the birds that have been visiting me lately?
