Seed to Seed

When the lettuce begins to bolt I leave it to flower.
It will set seed.
I dry the seed
and plant again for Autumn harvest.

I am glad the Hummingbird
enjoyed lettuce flower nectar.
Seed to seed,
one of the many gardening practices I use.

    Oh Sherry,

This is so precious! I just love these photos.

How in the world did you get that picture with hummingbirds mouth open? It's just so wonderful!

    Thank you dear friend,

  3. Hi Becky,
Seed to seed is a nice way to garden. Sometimes the beds look messy but I like the different stages and as I saw so do the birds!
I have saved my Marigold and Zinnia seed for over thirty years.
I always have plenty for the next year's planting.

  4. Hi Sprite,
    She is a sweet bird.
She was chattering with me! She does that often. I think she likes to have her picture taken. I had been busy with the butterflies.
    You are so welcome.
I do like sharing the backyard birds and bugs.

  6. Dear Mary,
She has the cutest chatter. I do not know what she is saying. I hope she brings the little ones soon.
    Baby Hummingbirds are tiny.
I do not know where her nest is but I expect it is close by.
