That's a great pose - I think the Monarchs are well and gone from here. Only a few lazy (or not so lazy) bees hanging on. Next week they will all be gone.
Dear Chris, I still am seeing newly emerged ones like this one. I watch them basking in the mornings. It is cool around here 48-49 degrees at 8am. As the sun comes up over the neighbor's trees I watch as the Monarchs begin to feed. Aways so lovely against the blue morning sky. No frost here yet. I see the bees in the afternoons. I know I will miss all the bugs come frost. Sherry
Dear Mary, This darling was followering me! I had been watching him feed and as I walked towards the driveway to go walking around the neighborhood, he came with. LOL I love the bugs and I think they do get to know me. I know the bees do. I hope the butterflies know me as friend. Hugs, Sherry

Dear Meggie, I had read there were Monarchs in New Zealand! Swanplant sounds lovely...I love that. I also have been reading about all the fantastic birds in your country. I would love to come and visit and do many walk abouts. I think I would need 6 months at least...my main goal would be see you, of course, and the Fairy Penguins also known as Blue Penguins. Oh my, they are darling. Sherry

This is so beautiful, Sherry! I traipsed after a Monarch today and finally managed to get one photo from a distance. They seem to be constantly floating about--I don't know how you captured this fantastic picture!
