Texas

I am packing our picnic basket
and gathering our gear.
We are taking a road trip!

Like many other snow birds
we are headed south.

We will return in a couple of weeks.
I have to be back for fiber Tuesday
and Valentine's Day.

It is a big state. We hope to travel the back roads,
the farm to market roads.

The Lower Rio Grande Valley is a flyway
we will be staying near by.
Maybe we will see new to us birds and butterflies.

I have never seen an armadillo or a Texas Bluebonnet!

  2. It sounds like you are planning for a wonderful trip! Instead of focussing on the destination, you are planning to have fun on the way. So, you are being process, and not results oriented.

    Take some pics!

  3. Dear Mel,
    I am so excited....
I will defrost and stay thawed for awhile. I do hope I see some butterflies. I read how some overwinter in the Lower Rio Grande
    Valley.
    I need bugs!
    Hugs,
    Sherry

  4. Dear Sue,
I am a process sort of person...I like both actually...desination and process and home again... always in the now...with respect for those that came before and hope for tomorrow.
I really like having my picinic basket in the backseat filled with tasty and nutritious snacks.
The cameras will be at the ready. I have backup batteries too!
    Happy trails!

  5. OH MY! I wish I was going with you! I lived in Texas most of my life and have lots of family there. One of my favorite 'old' photos of myself is taken with 'me' in a field of bluebonnets! And you will see armadillas, racoons, opossum, and maybe even a roadrunner! Should be SO much fun! Some of those farm to market roads are NOT paved! lol ENJOY!

    Bon Voyage!

  25. Hope you have a good time down here in Texas. It is a great state. It is a bit early for bluebonnets but if you are close be sure to stop at Fredrickssburg Wildseed Wildflower Farm. It is great! There are always things blooming there. Don't wish for any armadillos in your garden. Those critters can really do damage. Debbie
