A walk in the forest

I love the trees in the Quinault Rain Forest.

We walked in the rain.

Steller's Jay

the Varied Thrush, the ferns and the moss
call this forest home.

  3. That stellar's jay is great! It seems so colorful that it belongs in a tropical rainforest.

I have always wanted to go there. Such a strange idea...a rainforest in the northwest.

Also, don't forget to vote for your favorite team to win the scientist cup:

The third photograph made me shiver.....for me it shows the true beauty of the forest.....I am at one in the woods....I belong to the trees and moss.....

Another few weeks and your tree will be breaking bud.....It is exciting to think that you have a tree here......

  6. Beautiful pics Q
The birds are so different to anything I've seen. Makes you realize how species differ according to region, even in the same country.

  16. Dear MAry,
I had thought I would actually write down all the birds I have seen in my lifetime last winter but did not get to it! Maybe one of these days I will. I have a beautiful Audubon Life List Journal I could fill in. I have seen so many lifers this year.
It was great to see this Jay.
