I used to watching the Baltimore Orioles when we lived in PA for 3 years; we don't have them in the piedmont of NC, although they do breed in the mountains. We have Orchard Orioles instead, a very fast-moving bird that's very hard to photograph! <br /><br />I love your peony -- such a deep, rich shade -- and lupine too. Tku for making me aware.<br /><br />Our temperatures are way below normal for this time of year. It reached 11C yesterday....52F. Way too cold for May. My gardens are very slow....no buds on the lupins yet and the peaony buds are very tiny. I always expect to see moose where I see lupine growing since the firsts time I ever saw a moose it was standing in a roadside eating lupine.
