I have not seen a Swallowtail for a week!
I am smitten with all the butterflies. On sunny warm days I usually have a few hundred butterflies. The Skippers are a huge part of that number. Now that the season has changed my numbers are decreasing. One of the many reasons I will miss them is I like all the wings. I have noticed the Sparrows have increased in number. Lots of wings coming and going from the bushes and tress to the feeders.
On the wings of joy,
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-65159298396867452882007-10-10T09:40:00.000-05:002007-10-10T09:40:00.000-05:00Dear Mary,I will see what I can do. My deck is about 30 feet across and is two levels, maybe 14 feet deep.
The gardens are all around the perimeter of the house and slowly I am putting in gardens around the property line. The back also has two patios and a large vegetable garden that has paths running through it! So lots of gardens! From my deck I can see all of the backyard gardens but my camera cannot, at least not all at once. This has given me an idea. Maybe I could do a series of photos. Humm... I will see what I can come up with. OR....I could get a wide angle lens! That would be very fun!
I already want a macro lens. Let's see Christmas and birthday are coming up!
Viceroys do look so similiar to the Monarchs. Maybe you can get a photo and I could take a peek. I do know the difference now that the Viceroys are in the gardens.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-81838390033048931512007-10-09T17:36:00.000-05:002007-10-09T17:36:00.000-05:00*****Oh my goodness, I forgot to say that you are ...*****

Oh my goodness,

I forgot to say that you are a Butterfly Woman!

I think I said that before though. :)

Lovingly,
*spriteSpritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02290690198432619341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-88777973706969331042007-10-09T17:35:00.000-05:002007-10-09T17:35:00.000-05:00*****Simply Gorgeous!Love,*sprite*****

Simply Gorgeous!

Love,

*spriteSpritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02290690198432619341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-73881635606211016692007-10-09T12:32:00.000-05:002007-10-09T12:32:00.000-05:00I think I'm seeing a very large Viceroy...no Monar...I think I'm seeing a very large Viceroy...no Monarchs. I always "know" they will be back but spring seems so far away when it is cold and snowy outside! I was reading in my November journal from last year and butterflies were still about so maybe I have another month. It all depends on the weather.
I hope the birds are as fun this coming winter as they were last year. I was so excited every day to be outside with them.
I have a few winter projects I want to do too. I could put butterfly slide shows around the house on digital photo frames! I have one in the kitchen and it is very fun.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-46058970917799503262007-10-09T08:55:00.000-05:002007-10-09T08:55:00.000-05:00Thank you for your amazing butterfly photos ~ we w...Thank you for your amazing butterfly photos ~ we will enjoy them while we wait for their return.Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13874781381364710459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-14247328675047683252007-10-08T18:51:00.000-05:002007-10-08T18:51:00.000-05:00Hi Mon@rch,I too wonder! These were fresh ones too. I bet they make it to Mexico.
Thank you. I have hundreds maybe thousands, of Monarch pictures.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-48681084241626541812007-10-08T16:45:00.000-05:002007-10-08T16:45:00.000-05:00Every time I see them I wonder, "will you be my la...Every time I see them I wonder, "will you be my last?"!
