They are shy too so we do not see them very often.
I still am filling your hat box. One of these days I will send it to you. I am slow but so sure!
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-22480672114429365462008-03-01T08:28:00.000-06:002008-03-01T08:28:00.000-06:00Dear Marvin,Nice to know you are up and running ag...Dear Marvin,
Nice to know you are up and running again. It seems like a long time since I have been visiting. I think I will just take the afternoon for seeing what has been going on!
I love that you call the Groundhog a Whistle Pig! I will remember that. Actually I am keeping a list of wild animals in my backyard and all the different names we know them by.
I love that about blogging! Not only do I get to see what is happening all over the world but also the colloquialisms! They are my favorite aspect of an area.
Language is another interesting study!
Lots of Cardinals! They are singing too now. Very beautiful.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-17512588428982738032008-03-01T08:20:00.000-06:002008-03-01T08:20:00.000-06:00Dear Mary,Seeing wild, four-legged, animals in my...Dear Mary,
Seeing wild, four-legged, animals in my backyard always surprises me. Since we started trapping I am keeping a list. I know there is a bobcat in the area. I do not think we will be trapping him! I would love to get a picture.
Spring is surely coming.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-45500245294287167882008-03-01T08:16:00.000-06:002008-03-01T08:16:00.000-06:00Dear Tom,I was rather excited to see Mr. Woodchuck...Dear Tom,
I was rather excited to see Mr. Woodchuck so close. I could tell something was going on, the birds were acting strange.
I too think spring is almost here. We did have a little bit of a warm up. This really is not a very good area for them. My husband has been trapping them and has a nice wild area that he relocates them to. Seeing this one right up close was surprising!
I could not get back far enough to get a full photo. He stood up on his hind legs and was rather tall!
I think he lives under my neighbor's shed. I think he came to eat bird seed and the food I put out for the rabbits. My husband will put broccoli in the live animal trap. His favorite!
The groundhog has emerged. Spring is coming soon.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-40664462790827762432008-02-29T17:15:00.000-06:002008-02-29T17:15:00.000-06:00Wow, i have never seen a groundhog before.Wow, i have never seen a groundhog before.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11087552312489010836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-12596698132335247732008-02-29T03:38:00.000-06:002008-02-29T03:38:00.000-06:00Yes, no that the whistle pig has been photographed...Yes, no that the whistle pig has been photographed it is time for it to go elsewhere. I am surprised he allowed hisself so close to you. They are very wary around here.

You can almost see the nest patch on its chest from it sleeping in one spot so long this winter.Lisa at Greenbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743973292900758183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-36523083517630254842008-02-28T14:11:00.000-06:002008-02-28T14:11:00.000-06:00Dear Deb,It is a busy backyard! It is not very safe for the groundhogs or the raccoons to live here. The busy street out front is so dangerous for them. We see too many wild animals on the side of the road.
It is fun to see the creatures in the backyard. Most are plant eaters. I think Mr. Groundhog was going for the lettuce I put out for the rabbits. Maybe he was getting my motning apple core.
SherryQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02473455565144414399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27765182.post-16505396167756907062008-02-28T14:07:00.000-06:002008-02-28T14:07:00.000-06:00Dear Jeanne,Thank you for blessings.
