The wind is blowing out of the southwest.
It is a hot wind.
The forecast is for hot and dry all week.

I love the color of your flowers in the first picture. Are they Marigolds?

It was a very hot day, indeed. I felt feverish today, and in fact all weekend. Even staying indoors. I haven't been out in weeks, it is just too hot for me.

Coming to corner offers such peace, joy, and delight. I look so forward to spending time here. Thank you so much my friend.

Calling all Angels to send rain,

May it be so~

Sherry,

Same here. Susan's blog is fantastic, isn't it? I have Geoff's book tucked away for Michael's birthday.

Hi Mon@rch,
The wind blew the Blue Jay feather onto the Marigold! I watched as it blew it off too! The hot wind is drying everything out. I cannot put enough water down fast enough.
Susan and Geoff seem to be very talented people.
I am enjoying Foot Race!

Hi, Sherry,

Susan sent me your blog posting this morning--well, no, she sent it last night, but I saw it this morning. Anyway, what a great way to start off my day. Thanks so much for telling people about the book, and I'm really glad you're enjoying it. And, Mary, that's awesome that you bought a book for your husband's birthday, and I appreciate it--I just hope (if you want him to be surprised) that he never reads your comments on other people's blogs! Anyway, thanks Sherry, and Mary!

Dear Sprite,
The Marigolds are a lovely orange.
I have saved seed for over thirty years. It always pleases me to see my Marigolds in bloom. Come September and October they will be filled with butterflies.
So sorry to hear of fever! Do take extra good care of yourself. I will send wellness and I will light a candle so it gets to you quickly!
Thank you for calling the Rain Angels in. I just began singing the song, Calling all Angels.
I like that song alot. Not cowboy music but I still like it!
Thank you Sprite. I hope Corner is a calm and pretty place to come to. I sometimes come too and relax and enjoy. I normally bring a glass of water! I expect I will linger over a butterfly...
Hugs and wellness,
Sherry

Hi Susan,
LOL!!
You are so funny..
I could throw you a biscuit!
Maybe a Red Tailed would fly one up to you.
If I gave it to a crow I think it would get eaten!Geoff's tale is amazing! He is such an excellent writer. I am entertained page by page. I do want to know who won the Foot Race but I also love the story of how the Race unfolded. This C.C. Pyle is a hoot of a man!
I love all the history Geoff gives. I feel as if the 1920's are alive right now! He is good.
Hugs and bird songs, Susan.
I am so glad I am getting to know you,
Sherry

Dear Becky,
The wind blew the Blue Jay feather onto the Marigold while I was standing out in the backyard. I was trying to find something to take a photo of that would show the hot wind!
I don't know if it looks hot but it was real!

Hi Geoff,
I am totally enjoying each word!
Such a cool story. I had no idea. I do like the 1920's and I feel as if I would have been a Flapper.
You give a nice background for the story and I appreciate the history of the towns the runners come through. This is a fast read story.
C.C. Pyle was one enterprising young man! I laugh often. He was something.
You are an excellent story teller. I love the fact that this is a true story. You must have done a tremendous amount of research. The story reads as if you were there!
I was going to wait and take your book as my vacation book but once I began reading I was hooked.
Thanks for being a great writer.
Hope book two is in the works.
Sherry
