A little relief

The clouds began to build this afternoon.

After supper a few sprinkles began to fall.

Rain came with the thunder.

The Hummingbird showered
and caught drops on her tongue.

It did not rain very much.
The air was washed.
It smells divine.

Thank you for sending some rain.

Dearest Sherry,

We got just about 33 drops on the back patio. Then it was dry within moments. We had thunder too.

I have fallen in love with this little hummer. Oh my goodness, this is the most precious thing I have ever seen.

That little itty bitty tongue with the drop of rain.

I'm in heaven, and can see - you must be too.

JOY~

Glad someone is getting rain.
I felt one drop this evening. Does that count as rain?

Rain smells like nature's perfume. I hope you get some more. Hugs, Sasha.

Good Morning Sprite,
The storms were scattered!
We do need real rain, an inch, to water everything. I received less than a tenth of an inch. I do understand the disappointment of 33 drops, not even enough for a Hummingbird.
This female is rather friendly and so very sweet. She is JOY!
Having the wee bit of rain and a rainbow was the icing on the cupcake! I had spent so much of my day inside and when I saw the Giant Swallowtail I was very pleased. While photographing her I saw the thunderhead forming!
So glad you went over the rainbow with me!
The day ended in a state of bliss for me; Hummingbirds, butterflies and rainbows, life is good!
I am still dancing this morning.

Dear Susan,
I count every drop!
As I scan the skies this morning I keep hoping rain will once again grace my backyard.
I feel as if I live one rainstorm to the next!
Maybe Chris in England, will send some of her extra raindrops over to all of us in desperate need.
Sherry, who will put your native gardens on the rain list

Dear Sasha,
You are so right! When it rains I just stand on the deck and inhale!
My husband and I walked right after the storms passed and everything smelled divine.
"Rain, rain, rain...I don't mind."

'A little relief' from the heat is what we all need about now. Yesterday, the temps were in the 40's with the humidity. Later in the afternoon, we had a bit of much welcomed rain :-}

After a dry spell I love the smell of rain too :-) Your pics of the rain falling are fantastic, I have never managed to do that yet! I hope you get a bit more rain soon :-)

Dear Sherry,

Fresh air! Small rain but we take anything we can get. What a nice story.

I have found that the hummingbirds get very invigorated and active during and after the rain.

The rainbow made me smile,

Hugs,
Mary

Nice Sherry! I hope it rains here, soon. The air needs a good cleaning and the plants need a good watering.

Dear Deb,
I just looked at the comversion and your 40's are in the 100's !!!
That is way too hot for you guys!
Wow! Glad you had some rain and hopefully a cool down. Summers that are over hot and dry are hard on birds, bugs, plants and humans!
Maybe Chris will send us some of her extra rain.

Dear Chris,
If you can find a dark background for the rain to show upon you can get the "rain" falling easier. No flash helps too.
It does smell nice after a rain when it has been so dry.
Please send some more. I am very dry still. I did not even get a tenth of an inch.

Dear Mary,
The hummers seem to love the rain. They look as if they are taking a shower! I see them perched with wings outstreached. I do think they humm while showering too.
I was glad for the rain and the rainbow. Wish we could have some more.
Hugs,
Sherry

Hi Becky,
They are sweet. One of the females is very friendly with me.
I think her nesting time is over and she is back spending friend time with her human.

Hi Naturewoman,
So many of us are needing rain this year! I think we all need to do a rain dance. Something with drums and chants.
I am getting the rain sticks out.
