Clear Skies

My son and I were visiting
out on the deck.

It felt warm in the sun.
The sky was clear.

The birds came and went.

They did not mind our chatter.

Mockingbird was looking for his raisins.
I treasure these warm winter days with my son.

Sherry any day is beautiful when you can share it with your son. I imagine you with a golden glow as well as the sun when you are with him. It was that the sun cooperated.

I can't wait for a sunny day. We had clouds all day. The sun did try to peek out from the clouds this morning turning some of the sky into a pink and mauve sea with angry dark gray clouds.

Dear Whirly,
My little boy is all grown up! It is nice too as he is very helpful. When he visits it is so easy. He does all his own laundry and rinses the dishes and even cooks sometimes!
We are having fun together.
He loves the birds too. He will keep the feeders full while I am gone.

Dear Lisa,
Yes, anyday is a great day when I can share it with my kids. I miss them and am glad they have grown up and have found their way.
Having the sun out and the temperatures rise was very nice. We were comfortable outside. (I had my blanket at the ready just in case.)
You have been cloudy for many days.
Hopefully the sun will come out and dry things up a bit for you.
I must get outside everyday even if it is for ten minutes. I just need the fresh air I guess.
I like to be eye to eye withthe birds too.

Dear Cathy,
Thank you. It is a long drive from California to my house, about 1800 miles! He drove through some rather heavy storms too.
I just want to spend as much time as I can with him. It could be many months before I see him again.

I just love the colors you were able to capture with these photos! The Cardinals are not easy to photograph and you capture them perfectly!

Dear Tom,
I hope your snow did not bother your birds too much! I hope you were able to get your feeders all filled for them.
Thank you. I have lots of Cardinals to choose from! My regulars are up to 26 and when it is ice or snow I have had 40 on the deck in the trees and at the feeders. Flocks of Cardinals!
I can usually get close ups of the females. One is very comfortable with me and I do believe she would eat out of my hand if I offered seed to her. I was looking for the "blue" background and in the Dogwood today.

I enjoyed your wonderful photos, but not nearly as much as you enjoyed the time with your son.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
I hope you enjoy my holiday photos. Last summer my husband and I took a long trip and I was able to get some of the photos up on the blog when I returned.
Hopefully I will be able to take some pictures while I am gone. If all goes well I will post.
Have a most Happy Winter Holiday!

Dear Deb,
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I will catch up when I return.
Solstice will come soon and the days will grow longer.
Before we know it the snow will melt and once again it will be butterfly time.
Now is the time for me to celebrate life and love with my son and my daughter and my son-in-love!
Thank you for your friendship.
Bird songs and butterfly wings,
Sherry
