Brown Creeper

Brown Creeper is little
only 5 inches (13 cm).

I heard him before I spotted him.

Such a cute little bird.

My bird book says they breed north of me.
My bird book says they are a winter bird in my area.

They will leave soon,
Spring migration has begun.
I heard Canadian Geese high in the sky.
They are bringing Spring to my friends in the north.

Sherry will you please tell those Canadian geese to hurry up and get here..!
As I write we have strong winds and wet snow beating against the windows. More like Winter than spring that's for sure.
The Brown Creeper is sweet, can't say as I've seen one here.

Yes, these are the cutest little birds around. They blend in with their surroundings so well. I look forward to seeing them in our garden every winter. I wonder if they will return next year since the pine trees are gone.

Cute little birdie that I've never seen. I wonder if you found in during your walk or in your yard. Spring hit Missouri!

Dear Sheila,
I think you may be winter weary!
Some winters do seem longer than others. As long as I can get outside for a few minutes each day I do okay. I too get tired of cold.
We are having a gentle spring. She is slowly coming. This week the temps are in the 50's.
I am not sure how far north the Brown Creepers go for breeding.
Spring will come to your gardens soon.

Dear Lisa,
The Brown Creepers seem to like the Maple tree in my yard. Maybe they use the pines for shelter. Since they come to your gardens every winter maybe they will adapt.
They do blend in well. Cute little song!
I have never seen one at the feeders. Do they come to your feeders?

Dear Mel,
They are little! The only way I ever see them is by movement.
I am waiting for the Spring Birds to arrive. I wonder if the Creepers and the Juncos will leave before the Orioles and the Grosbecks come.

Dear Mary,
These pictures were taken on my walk yesterday. I thought I was posting on Walking in Beauty!
I do often see Brown Creeper in the front maple. I think they are in your area in the winter. Tiny little birds that blend in very well.
Early Spring is here. I have plans to go wildflower hunting this coming weekend.
Hummers to you any day now.

Dear Tom,
Thank you.
I was pleased! They are tricky to photograph. So quick too. This Creeper did not seem to mind me being about. He was on the hunt for bugs!

Lovely tree creeper Sherry. I have only seen one, it was in our small copse, climbing an old willow tree.

Sweet bird, Sherry! I also loved the daffodil photos. The close ups are amazing!

A year ago this week, the Cleveland Pears, in our back yard bloomed...so pretty. Then we had that hard freeze! I hope spring stays just a little bit slower this year.

Dear Cheryl,
I looked in my Peterson's Field Guide to the Birds of Britian copywrite 1954, and enjoyed seeing your Tree Creeper looks just like my Brown Creeper!
I love seeing similiar birds.

Dear Pat,
I too remember last spring. Everything in my gardens were ahead of themselves by a full month! I am enjoying the slow spring this year. We have cloudy and cool today. Rain is in our forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
Spring rains are nice.
I bet they are headed your way too!
