Bouquets of daisies and lilies sit on tables
through out the house.
The Purple Finches are in the gardens.
I was hoping the Gold Finches would come today .
They are my March bird to study.
Some of the birds have begun to nest.
I was hoping for a different pair of birds
or even a squirrel,
to call this old nesting box home.
The winds are gusting out of the south and it is 64 degrees outside.
My kite is ready to go.
March is coming in like a frisky lamb.
A roaring lion is on her tail.
Thunderstorms are in the forecast for tomorrow.
Rain changing to snow for tomorrow night.
The winds of March are turbulent.

I am glad to hear you are enjoying the arrival of March. I have been too. Of course I can barely move right now. I have muscles awakened that I forgot I had. ha..
The winds of March are indeed turbulent, and I love all she has to offer. March and September are my favourite months of the year. The sun is shining today but the wind has been cold. They are talking of possible snow next week!
I can imagine your house being a very beautiful and calm place.
Enjoy the sun while it lasts.
lol
Well my March came in like a lion's roar with snow squalls toss in.

I love seeing people with flowers already! Spring is so close and shouldn't be too long before some of our flowers start showing up!
Now you are in a new mode, Sherry! I like it! Flowers, thunderstorms, nesting - all enlightening!
March is a wild month - full of surprises. I felt spring today as we had 64 degrees, too. The wind is chapping my skin.
I wish you a mild March that goes out like a lamb.
Hugs,
Mary
Another wonderful post!
March is usually warm & very pleasant here, it is the beginning of our Autumn.
I have an Award for you Sherry, please come to collect it from my blog.
Dear Lisa,
Happy March!
Were you out gardening? I would like to get the flowerbeds cleaned up too but too wet here! I did see an Eastern Comma yesterday when it warmed to 70 degrees. I love Spring!
Easy does it!Nice to be out in the dirt again.
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
I too adore March! I love the energy of spring's winds. Mother Nature is sweeping up in my yard.
As long as the wind is from the west or south it is a warm wind. The cold wind sends me scurring inside. Getting the leaves picked up will need to wait awhile longer as it is so wet from the melted snows.
I would like to be outside today before the storms come in. I have had company the last two days and I have not had my full bird time!
My husband and I enjoy our little house.
we have lots of fun!
Sherry
Dear Cathy,
It will be fun to see if your March goes out like a gentle lamb!
Whenever our March is roaring in I know the snows will be gone soon. March is the month of hope for me.
Have hope, Spring is not too far away now.
Sherry
Dear Tom,
I bought my flowers!
My garden flowers are still far from bloom. I would like to get into the woods in a couple of weeks and look for wildflowers. I did see an Eastern Comma yesterday. I will be outside soon to see if I see any more today.
I will set out some berries just in case!
Sherry
Dear Mary,
Oh yes Mary! I made it through winter. March is the beginning of "the ease" of being outside! I will not need so many layers. Not ready to pack up the long underware just yet but soon, very soon!
Pansies are so cheerful as are daisies. The lilies I bought should open in a day or two. They will fill my house with the smell of spring!
Seeing the Starlings nest was not so fun! We may need to take the nesting box down.
I am all about lambs! I have been enjoying your sheep and lamb pictures. Hope you have a nice long spring.
Hugs,
Sherry
Dear Meggie,
Thank you for the award. It was kind of you to think of me and Corner. I have been blogging now for almost two years. I sometimes go back and look over a past month on Corner and remember what was going on. Last March was very warm and lots of flowers were in bloom, too early!
Looking forward to your Autumn and my Spring. It is a joy to come to your journal and see your world!
Thank you again for your kind words.
Sherry
Another delightful post! Sherry, what are those birds hanging on the front of the nesting box?
Karen
Dear Karen,
Those two birds are European Starlings, in their winter plumage. They are non-native to my area and all of the United States. They are very aggressive birds and not well liked! I have made my peace with the Starlings yet I am still not very fond of them. They chase all the song birds off the feeders!
The nesting box, years ago, was for blue birds but the woodpeckers and the squirrels have gnawed the opening so big that now all I ever see using this box are house sparrows and squirrels!
Glad you enjoyed this essay!
Hope your March is mild and pleasant.
Sherry
More fabulous captures Q!! I especially love the shot of the purple finch! :)
Have a fantastic March!
Cat
Dear Cat,
Thank you.
There is a small flock, 8-10, of purple finches that come and go to the feeders. I was looking for the Gold Finches. I know they are about but I did not see them when I went to take photos.
Happy March to you too.
Sherry
I did enjoy the essay and the lesson! I learn so much about the natural world on your blog. Thank you!
Karen
