Shhhh.....

March is going out like a sleeping Lion.
Severe thunder storms are just south of me today.
The winds have been gusty and a few sprinkles caught me while I was walking.

I turned the radio on after lunch to listen to the first baseball game of the season.
Not our opening day, that will be next week. We played the Detroit Tigers, in Detroit.
I listened as I finished unpacking the April things.
I cheered as the boys in blue played twelve innings and won their first game.

The Forsythia is beginning to bloom.

I saw a Mourning Cloak butterfly pass through the back yard.

It is time for me to put the oranges out.
The Baltimore Orioles and the Orchard Orioles are on their way.
While having a cup of tea outside I looked up at the feeder.
I was so surprised to see a male House Finch in his orange colors.
I have never seen this variant.
Goodbye March!

Shhhhh :-) Don't wake that sleeping lion. April is coming and hopefully it will bring sunshine and blue skies and just a little light rain to make our gardens grow. I remember last year when you were putting out oranges, something I had never heard of before :-)

The sun was playing peek-a-boo with the clouds and the lion has been roaring off and on here all day too. Poor Luna has been in a dither wondering if she should be hiding or following me around. ha...

Go Royals! LOL! I used to cheer for the Baltimore Orioles but since they don't visit me, I'm picking another team :o) even though I don't care about baseball. I tune in when I want to nap.

The end of March is soaking us - heavenly.

Dear Chris,
The Lion stayed asleep! A couple of times it became very dark and I thought the storm was coming but it slipped south!
I also will be getting the jelly feeding cups cleaned up and ready for the Orioles!

Dear Lisa,
We dropped 40 degrees yesterday!
Thank goodness all the wild winds stayed out of my gardens. I did cut a few daffodils for the kitchen table. Now that they are blooming I go around everyday and cut the broken or bent stems.
Hope you dry up some. You have had so much flooding.

Dear Tom,
Hope you do not have any damage. Sometimes the Spring storms do more damage in my gardens than the ice and snow of winter.
The Mourning Cloak did not stop so I put some berries out. Maybe next time it wil find my rotting fruit!

Dear Mary,
I listen to baseball on the radio while I work in the gardens. I love the sound of the announcer and the cheering of the crowds.
