An American Kestrel was sitting on top of a street lamp
when my husband and I went on errands.
This small Falcon is also called a Sparrow Hawk.
We drove downtown and stopped at the Missouri River for a few minutes.
The Gulls were flying.
To celebrate springing forward we turned our mattress
and went for a walk.
When we came into the gate at Cave Springs
twenty Robins greeted us.
A pair of Mallards have stayed on the pond.
I hope they nest.

I will pop right over.
Sherry
Dear Cat,
Spring is only a week away!
The robins were finding worms too so that is a great sign. It is cold this morning but a nice warm up is coming tomorrow. I mught see some more leaf buds!
I am very excited the Mallards have stayed on this little pond. I will visit more often as the weather becomes warmer. I hope to see little ones!
Sherry
Dear Tom,
The American Kestrel was sitting on top of a street lamp! It would be fun to take pictures of all the different birds that we see as we are driving around in the city.
A few weeks ago my husband saw an eagle while driving across town.
I think as soon as the weather is nice I will put the top down and do a spring birding trip right in my city.
Sherry
Dear Lisa,
You are home!
Hope the flower show was fun. I will pop over and see if you have done a post.
Glad the snow storm did not keep you from traveling.

Lovely Sherry....The mallards are so sweet, two landed in my garden this morning....visit my blog to see. They have started to build a nest in the rushes on the pond next door.
What a perfect day you had Sherry. 20 Robins ~ what a beautiful Spring sign :-}
How very lovely
I enjoy your photographs so very much.

Dear Cheryl,
Glad to know you are safe and sound. You had big storms!
We are connected honey! A pair of Mallards speaks to us and we are an Ocean and a half apart! LOL!
I hope mine nest too!
Baby ducks all in a row soon for both of us...Yeah!
Sherry
Dear Deb,
I took a break from working on my Alamanac to do some visiting this morning. It is still very cold out. Warm up tomorrow and Wednesday. It is just the very early beginnings of spring.
I am treasuring each minute.
It was a Robin party!
Sherry

Sherry, beautiful pictures as usual!
Your photos & your words never fail to enthral me. So soothing to see & read.
Thankyou.
Dear Mel,
Thank you. There are lots of birds all over my city. I think I need to do a post on them!
Do you do Daylight Savings Time in Peru?
Sherry
Dear Meggie,
I have been think about you and yours all weekend.
Sending my blessings. Be sure and take care of the dog bite!
Hugs,
Sherry
At least the birds and other critters don't have to worry with setting their clocks forward and hour.
Great shots, Sherry.
Dear Marvin,
I am a "up at dawn" sort of girl. It takes me a month to get used to the "time on the clock" change.
The birds don't care what my watch says, they just want their seeds!
Spring is just about here. Warm up today. I could see a flower in bloom by the weekend.
Thanks. My city is full of birds!
Sherry
