Wild Wind

A steady 22 mph southwest wind is blowing.
Gusts are up to 43 mph.
It is warm, 74 degrees.

Red Tailed hawks are hunting
as are the Vultures.

A few bugs have emerged.
My husband saw an orange butterfly swept away in the wind.

The winds are to shift this evening.
Cold northern air will meet the gulf moisture.
Low tonight 30 degrees with snow.

Inside we have a friend.
Happy Mother's Day to my friends in England.
Thank you for your friendship.

It looks like that cardinal is about to blow away Sherry. I hope you had a good hold on your hat today.

I didn't see any bugs other than a fly today but it was warm here too.

Sherry,

Ahhhh. 74 is better than our 65 :o) It felt like Spring today! Our winds have calmed. I've seen wasps and ladybugs and gnats.

But, like you, we'll have cold air blow through this week. Another very cold blast.

Enjoy your warm days - you deserve it!

Your photos are gloriously Springlike.

Hugs,
Mary

Wonderful photos again. I tried so hard to get a beautiful butterfly today, but it kept eluding me, & then it would return, as if to tease!

Dear Lisa,
The winds have been so strong!
I watched a chickadee actually be blown by a gust as it was flying in to the feeder!
I wore my hat with it's chin strap pulled tight!
I saw a few lady beetles and a quick flash of orange! I knew it was either an Eastern Comma or a Questionmark. I hope that butterfly went right back into its warm spot. The temperatures dropped from 70 to 27. At least the rains stopped before it hit the freezing mark. We were to have snow but it must have missed us.
March is usually very windy here.
I know spring is just around the corner so I do not mind too much.
Last year on this date I was cutting daffoldils for the house. They are at least a month away from bloom this year.

Dear Mary,
I was so excited to see your Bluebirds! I know mine will be here soon. They are so beautiful!
No food for the wasps yet. I was tickled to see the wasp on the feeder.
Still too early for Oriole food. It would have been frozen this morning.
I did spend as much time as I could outside when it was spring like. The winds are blowing out of the north right now and so cold, 27 degrees, I cannot be out. I acclimated to the 60's!
I saw the female Mockingbird this morning! Baby Mocks before too long!

Hi Tom,
Your snow scapes are just outstanding. I understand winter weary and very soon carpets of wildflowers will replace all that snow!

Dear Meggie,
The butterflies are like that!
They seem to know when we have the camera out and desiring a photo!
She will return and be so full of nectar she will not even notice you.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your butterflies this year. You have so many different ones than mine.
Spring has sprung in your gardens!
I am also looking forward to your bees. Mason bees are incredible!

Dear Jeanne,
My kids always enjoyed Dr. Suess.
I am rather smitten with Thing One and Thing Two!
The winds have continued into today! It is cold and gray again.
I am warmed by my space heater and my hot cup of tea!

Dear Cheryl,
I love you and your bee! You are so kind to care for the bees. This bee will be your forever friend.
I am looking outside my office window and I see the sun has peeked out. It is so cold today. I scooted out and fed the birds and ran right back in. Windy an dcold. No bees yet here.
I will let you know when my bees come out.
Hugs,
Sherry

Dear Shelia,
It is that time of year when we long for warmer temperatures. The temperatures dropped over night and now my high is 40 degrees lower than yesterday! What is nice, is I know Spring is coming!
We will make it through another winter.
I am finishing up my cup of tea and thinking of you.
I really enjoyed your post about tea.

There is so much to catch up reading your posts since my vacation. So I begin with this one....it strucked me with the title (we have a strong wind here at the moment and some snow...again!). The pictures are great....as always!

Dear Cat,
The winds of March can be so awesome. I think Mother Nature is sweeping Autumn's leaves. March's clovers need sunlight!
I also am waiting for Spring! It is very cold this morning but the sky is a deep blue. I want to be outside!
Happy week to you too.

Dear Sue,
Thank you! The flowers inside my house are keeping my hopes up. We had a couple of warm days but the wind kept me from doing very much.
I felt for the birds. They struggled in the wind.
I do trust Spring will come!
