Hummingbird Time

I sat in my deck chair with my book and camera.
I wanted to spend the afternoon with the male Hummingbird.

I have seen him all week.

Today I wanted him to see me.

I want him to know I am his friend.

The females have not arrived yet.
When they do I hope he shows them our feeders and our flowers.
I would love to have a Hummingbird nest in my gardens this year!

I hope you get a nest in your garden this year too. I would be happy if I just had a couple of hummers frequenting our feeders. Hopefully soon.

I love watching these precious little birds!

How did you do with the storm, the other day, Sherry? Our son in law was on the lower floor of a hotel, in KC, when the roof blew off! He's fine!

We are still waiting patiently for the Hummers. I was looking through my garden journal last night and realized that around May 14th is their first spotting here - so it shouldn't be too long now before they drop by :-} I can only hope to get a photo as wonderful as yours Sherry.

Dear Goddess Findings,
I was very pleased to get a few pictures of the male Hummingbird. Hopefully he will become used to me and will perch up in my deck plants.
Looking forward to visiting your journal and getting to know you.

Dear Mary,
The hummingbirds make summer so fun! I look forward to the hummers every year. I have planted 6 huge pots on the deck for the Hummers this year. My window boxes are planted for the Hummingbirds too.
I think I will do lots and lots of zinnias. Hummingbirds and butterflies...All is good.

Dear Aluajala,
Thank you.
I love reading outside on the deck with the birds...
It has been cool so I can be outside in the sun. Once it begins to heat up I will not be able to be in the sun.
Being with the Humminbirds is wonderful.

Dear Kkryno,
The females are fiesty!
I would love to have them nest in my gardens. I never have seen their nest although I have had hummingbirds at the feeders for many years.
Will pop over and see if you have posted Willow photos.
I love Willow trees.

Dear Cheryl,
It would please me so very much if a Hummingbird built a nest in my gardens! I do love them.
I think they feel safe here but I have lots and lots of birds coming in and out. I have moved the Hummingbird feeders to one feeding station so they do not have to deal with any of the big birds.

Dear Pat,
I did okay. Lots of houses were damaged and I saw on the news all sorts of roofs were torn off by the tornadoes.
Glad your son-in-law is okay.
The Hummers are a delight!
The females are here so I am very excited!

Dear Shelia,
I think you are right!
She is here now.
I have seen two males and one female so far. I hope a nice group comes in and stays. Many of the neighbors have hummingbird feeders.
I love that!
More food means maybe more Hummers...
