The poppies are beginning to bloom.
I did my morning meditation with this one while it opened.

I have them planted in two locations, just in case.
I will harvest the seeds this year.
I am back gardening.
I am back being a plant person.
The sage is blooming.
It is a companion plant for the Rosemary.
It will grow in the next section of my medicine garden.
I have never grown Rue, the herb of grace.
Rue is famous as an antidote to poisons of all kinds.
It is often taken as a tea to prevent aging, one teaspoon of dried leaves to a cup of boiling water. It is a stimulant for circulation. It is also very beautiful, a hardy perennial with blueish-green leaves. Easy to grow and easy to dry the leaves for teas.
Rue is one of the sacred herb of the Incas along with marigolds and roses.
I do not know if it is good for the bees or the butterflies.
I do think it will be good for me.

Your poppies are open befroe mine Sherry. I have three buds. I can't wait!!!! I have meadow rue that looks like the one you have. It is blooming right now. The bees and butterflies love it.
For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking of the Wizard of Oz as I looked at those poppies! :c) Beautiful! (yawn.....)
I adore Poppies, they are so beautiful, they do not last long though. The seedheads are wonderful to look at, I leave mine for months.
Rue is wonderful. I seem to remember Beckie at Serenity Garden doing a post on this herb.....I think it was much earlier in the year.

Poppies such as those, I always associate with our Anzac Day, & remembrance for our fallen soldiers. They grew in the fields of Flanders, & have come to represent all Australian & New Zealand fallen soldiers in wars.
We wear a Poppy every year for Anzac Day.
Love herbs, all kinds. My all time favourite is Parsley, all kinds.

I have never grown Poppies Sherry - they are such a beautiful colour. How exciting to have a section in your garden as a "medicine garden". Rue is new to me too :-}
Rue sounds like the medicine that I need right about now! All the bending down in the garden.. the bending up is getting harder for these old knees...did I actually say that!!

My husband and I did get our vegetable garden planted yesterday. I have lots of seeds still. I was hoping to get some rain so I could plant my seed in moist soil. It is dry again. Now I begin watching and wanting rain. It seems I do this every spring and summer.

We also have the Poppy to represent the fallen soldiers. Our Memorial Day (the last Monday in May)) is the day we honor the soldiers that died in wars.
I am growing lots and lots of different herbs. I actually have been thinking a seperate blog just about the growing and using of herbs would be fun. A "Q's Still Room"!
As I get feeling better I might just do this. Never enough blogs!!

My doctor has challanged me to grow my medicine. It might take a few years!!!
I am one of these all natural sorts.
I also think my doctor knows how much I need the dirt under my finger nails.
Learning about the different herbs is very fun too. Lots to learn.
Poppies are easy if you sow the seeds in the Autumn. There are Ladybug Poppies and are perennials.
I over seed with zinnia seed for summer flowers.
Try poppies the seeds are nice in leamon muffins.
