Rose crafting

When I cut the miniature roses
I only cut one third of the buds off the bush.
That way there are some that open to full bloom.

I can use the petals for rose teas, water or syrups.
I like to pick a miniature rose for my water glass or
for garnish for my salad.

The roses are pretty in little vases tucked into surprise spots.
I like to have a few inside my glass doored cabinets.
I like to wear them in my hair and on my hat.
Now that the rose bush is producing I should have miniature roses
until frost.

I added to the rose garland I started two years ago.
Last year I let the rose bush heal from the hard frost.
Some of the roses I will dry whole for winter crafting.
The roses look pretty drying in the open weave basket
on the dining room table.
Plus I am reminded to dry roses.

I strung the rose petal beads I made yesterday.
I will add to this string each time I make rose water.

It is wonderful to be back rose crafting.
I have missed working with the roses.

Dear Jeanne,
I lost many rose bushes last year. I am pleased to have some roses this year to harvest and make my rose things.
I too enjoy them.

Dear Cheryl,
A friend said she missed my posts about all the different things I make with garden flowers. Since I was doing some rose things I decided to share a bit.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Tom,
I do post rather often!
One of my friends asked if I would post about some of the things I do with the herbs and flowers I grow.
LAst year I let the gardens heal after the too early spring and the freeze that took so many plants. This year I am back snipping and drying.
