Day Lily Lesson

If I only had one day,
one day to greet the world,
one day to bloom, one day to be me,
what would I do?

Hopefully I would be the best I could be!

What pretty day lilies. I think the blossoms must be sweet tasting as our garden bunny has nibbled most of ours away :-}

I love yuor question, Sherry. A day lily is surely an apt symbol of that question. And so is the answer!!! Love and hugs, carol

What a question. My daylilies live up to their one day appearance too. I just love them.

Dear Deb,
Those bunnies!! You are very nice to give yours carrots and apple cores and lettuce, yet they still like the lilies? My bunnies seem to be happy eating garden Romaine and spinach.

Dear Cheryl,
The day lilies were given to me.
One day years ago a man stopped at my house to sell insurance. He saw I was a gardener. He did not sell me any insurance but brought back all sorts of day lilies. They were his passion. He wanted a place he knew his lilies would be cared for. My husband put a flower bed in for all the lilies. I still care for them after over 20 years.

Dear Carol,
There are other flowers that bloom for just one day. I am thinking of Morning Glories that are so lovely.
The flowers do remind me to be the best I can be each day.
Love and light,
Sherry

Dear Lisa,
I do enjoy them. Thank goodness there are more than one bloom on each stem!

Something we need to practice. Best the best you can be. And you are.

Dear Wendy,
I like to take pictures of flowers with their bugs or their birds. The Day Lilies do not seem to have very many! These beauties grow in a flower bed that is on the east side of my house. I seldom see them. I did plant zinnia seed in the Day Lily bed again this year. I love having the zinnias for the butterflies in August and September.
Once the zinnias are blooming I spend more time on the east side of my house. I love watching the butterflies.

Dear Mary,
Sometimes I am! I always think I can be better.
