Birds, bugs and bags

The leaves are off the Dogwood.
The wind blew them all over the backyard.
A few berries remain.

A small flock of Starlings came for berries.
The Robins and the Cardinals had already eaten most of them.

While the felt dried I watched the birds and the bugs.

I started sewing around 3 in the afternoon.
My bag was finished by 5 pm.

If all goes well tomorrow I will make a matching hat.
Felting is magical!

Lovely photos of your birds, bugs and bag. The Cardinal looks so excited with its berry. I am surprised at all the bugs you still have.

I love all this RED! Was the Cardinal your inspiration? :-)

Your purse is so colorful - just like you and your pictures!

The weather has been so beautiful here both yesterday and today, I feel like mother nature is celebrating the changes to come!

Dear Lisa,
I did a fun series of Cardinal photographs. One with him looking at the berries before deciding on which one to pluck!
When the sun comes out so do the bugs. A few butterflies too.

Dear Deb,
I think you would love felting. It is fun to do. Some knit with the wool and felt what they knit. I do not know how to knit. I bet it is fun.

Dear icqb,
It also has been lovely here.
I was pleased the sun was out so I could dry my felted pieces outside.
It feels good to be creating again.

Dear Carol,
Thank you. I have enjoyed shopping for all the secondhand pieces that went into my bag. My daughter said I was "Up cycling". I like that.
Hugs,
Sherry

It's interesting to see how you are using your secondhand objects to do your projects - very creative.

Dear Chris,
I decided that I was to only use secondhand in my projects. That way I stay challenged to be creative!
I shooped a new to me thrift store today. They are having a 75% off sale on MOnday on all of their clothes. I will be going and looking for silk dresses for linings!
It is fun.

That starling has more stars than I have seen on any starling in my life. I think all the birds and insects dress up just for you.

That purse is wonderful!!!!!!

Dear Maria,
The Starlings, in their winter dress, are very handsome birds!
I am so pleased with my bag! For my first felting project I wanted something exciting and fun and not too dificult to make. I wanted something that would sew up fast and I would use right away. My bag is everything I hoped it would be.
Thank you for, "talking felt"....
