The Cardinal is a beautiful bird - the male and the female are always together in our garden ... how kind of her to let him wear the bright red jacket :-)
Dear Deb, I think she is just so very beautiful. We have six females and six males in the back yard now. By the middle of winter I easily could have 30! My area is good for Cardinals. Sherry
Dear Cheryl, I love her very much.... I think she must have cast a spell on me...I take her or one of her sister's/daughter's/mother's picture most days. I wanted to let everyone know that when I post a female Cardinal I am posting about something different than a bird report! The birds stay so long because I feed them so much! I go through many many pounds of seed every week. LOL...I like to think they come to see me but really they come for the sunflower seeds. I love the birds and am very grateful I can feed them all year long. Thank you, Sherry
Dear Lisa, I took my sewing box out to the deck and did my hand work with the birds. I just love being outside with them. It was in the 40's but the sun was strong and no wind! she is my favorite. Thank you for your support. Being an artist is hard happy work! Sherry
Dear Marmee, I think she was trying to see what it was I doing! I sit with the camera on my lap and when I see a photograph I want to take I lay my sewing down. Some of the birds are used to me so they come to see what I am up to! They are fun. Sherry
Dear Wendy, Each female is just a little bit different. This one is so pretty with her red eyebrow! This one is also trusting. She will come to the brass leaf feeding dish I have close to my chair whenever I am outside. she knows I place special treats in it! Sherry
Dear Terre, Once they nest they will stay around. I feed sunflower seed year around. In the spring I love to hear their song. Happy Thanksgiving, Sherry
Dear Pat, Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones too. I am hoping to pop over this evening and catch up. The felting bug bit so hard that I am fiber smitten! Sherry
She DOES have a red eyebrow. How cute. She looks so soft and wooly, she could be made of felt too...at least her little hat on top. :-)
Happy Thanksgiving, Sherry! Please take a picture of the cheeseball tray you're putting out this year for the birds, crackers on the side for the "carb-conscious" of course. Ha ha ha. :-)
Dear Maria, I will have to wait until I return tomorrow to give the birds their treat. It maybe just plain cheese. I could not find an organic cheese ball. I will put the sliced almonds to the side as well as the crackers. A felted Cardinal...I must admit I am seeing felt alot in nature...the pine needle bed looks to be a lovely felt and those clouds...nice felt. Have a happy Thanksgiving with all your critters. Sherry

Your cardinal photos are just beautiful! We've had cardinals stopping briefly in our yard this year, but no residents yet. We keep hoping! :0)
She's beautiful Sherry.
I came by to wish you Happy Thanksgiving!
