I am going on a safari.
I am looking for butterflies.
I have glass boxes for the butterflies that did not make migration.
In the winter I bring them out.
I once again admire their wings.
with out butterflies.
The glass boxes are on a pink crystal tray
on the dining room table
with the dish gardens.
I miss the butterflies.
My husband is taking a few days off work for our
Winter Safari.
We know of a butterfly conservatory about four hours away.
I plan on spending a couple of days with the butterflies.
We also will stop to see the Swans.

Have a good time Sherry. I will look forward to seeing the pictures you take at the conservatory.
Happy New Year to you too.
Dear Sherry....what a pretty and delightful post.....how charming to see butterflies again.....tku....
I do hope that you have a wonderful trip......safe journey......
Butterflies this time of year? I wish...
That sounds so interesting. I need to find out if DC has anything like that; probably, and I just don't know about it:) My mother saved butterflies when I was a child, and put them under a curved glass w/gold frame and black felt background. I've had mixed feelings over it, as I don't think she found all of them when they were dead. Anyway, I love butterflies and everything they represent...have fun on your safari! Jan
Have a wonderful time with the Butterflies!!
Happy & Joyous New Year to you & yours!
Have a wonderful time, Sherry. I agree - flowers need butterflies. It's that simple.
Hope you take lots of pics.
HAVE a great safari...
Dear Lisa,
I am packed and ready to leave!
I am excited too. I bought an extra memory flash card for the 300. I plan on taking lots of pictures!
Happy New Year.
I do believe it will be the best!
Namaste,
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
These flowers are so pretty. I never can remember their name but they last a long time. My husband brought home two big bouquets last week when the temperatures warmed.
I sat my glass bug houses out on the dining room table and let my butterflies "play". Like most bug people I have boxes of bugs!
I am very excited about seeing the butterflies. This is a new exhibit and looks to be amazing.
We plan on stopping at Squaw Creek also. The swans should be in and eagles should be nesting!
I will post after the New Year.
Namaste,
Sherry
Dear Scienceguy288,
These are not alive any more...My husband sometimes will find a dead butterfly and he brings it to me for safe keeping.
I have a few.
I am going to see all sorts of Butterflies. I am very excited. I will take pictures. Hope the cameras behave themselves!
Happpy New Year,
Sherry
Dear Jan,
I bet someplace near by there is a Butterfly house. I have never been to one in the Winter so it will be a real treat.
I know some people who mount butterflies. I would never kill a butterfly for mounting. Mine are ones that died and were found.
I do think they are beautiful.
I love everything about the butterfly too.
Have a great New Year!
Sherry
Dear Meggie,
Thank you!
The New Year comes first to you!
Hope it is your best ever.

Dear Wendy,

Dear Dawn,
I sure hope I am not disappointed!
I am so excited that I am ready to leave right now!

Have fun visiting our butterfly friends!ea
Have a wonderful safari Sherry!!
Thank you for a year of beautiful photos, slides and sharing all your knowledge. Thank you for your friendship!
Wishing you the Happiest of New Years.
Have fun, Sherry! I know you will be in Flutterby Heaven!
I gotta admit I haven't seen a butterfly in a while, but today I did see a fuzzy, black caterpillar. Where there are caterpillars, there is hope. (Actually, the cat is probably tiger moth.)
Have a safe and enjoyable trip -- and use up a lot of pixels.
Just stopped by to give you a big hug. And wish you and your family a Happy New Year.
Grammy

I thought of you. I did not get any hummingbird photographs. The light was too dim. Oh well, maybe a trip to the tropic in 2009!
Happy New Year.
