Birds and blooms

The Gold Finches
are known as wild canaries.
Their song is sweet.

                                            The Rose-breasted Grosbeaks have returned.

A male greeted me this morning when I opened the backdoor.
                                                           A female came for breakfast.

                                                             The Lupine are blooming,

                                                               as are the Chamomile.
I shall dry some for winter tea.

They are all so beautiful! How fortunate you are to have Rose Breasted Grosbeaks to dine with you. :) Don't you just love Russell Lupines?? I bought a new one last week. Mine came back a couple of years then went away. I must check and see if my chamomile came up this Spring. :)

Dear Sherry.....the goldfinch and grosbeak are both very beautiful .....your photography captures their charm.....

Your lupins and camomile are both way ahead of mine....they are both lovely blooms and so very different.......

You meet so many wonderful birds! Your Chamomile is a nice addition, the tea should be very soothing.

I also have been watching goldfinches today...in the rain along with the daffodils! Your photos are so beautiful and capture the essence of all you see!

I was so happy to see the goldfinches return to my yard last week, Sherry. Then I found out that they never left, but had simply put on their winter overcoats so I didn't recognize them:) Sorry if I mentioned this before to you...I am learning so much more about birds!

Enjoyed your safari with Cheryl on Sunday. The bumbles have arrived here, but I'm still waiting on the butterflies.

We also have bright yellow finches. They are so colourful.
