Sunday Safari

                                                                   It is cool and cloudy.
I went bug hunting in my backyard.

I looked in the Painted Daisies,
no bugs!

One lonely bee was in the white azaleas.

The Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks kept an eye on me.

The White-Crowned Sparrow also was hunting for bugs.

There are over 40 different species of birds in the backyard.

I only saw one bee today!

Mocking bird always finds the meal worms.
                                                              Happy Mother's Day!

I was out taking photos of flowers in the garden this afternoon - had nearly finished when I remembered your bug safari, but it was a bit late by then :(

I did see one quite pretty fly, but it flew off before I could get a photo. The collared doves came up close and posed for me though - they clearly thought I should be doing a bird safari.

I love the mockingbird photo :-D

Your pictures today are just fantastic, Sherry! I think all of your Bumblebees were here at my house today. :) I spent the entire day outside---it was heaven---took tons of photos of the birds (of course)...:) Happy Mother's Day, Sherry.

It was cold here too! I told daughter I was going back to Florida! I saw my first bee yesterday!! And first hummingbird today, even with this coldspell.

I love your bird pics. And the little bee too. I'm sure it will heat up soon, and you'll see lots of bugs.
Happy Mother's Day to you!

Dear Sherry.......so many birds and so pretty......your birds always look very tropical to me, with their lovely colouring....

One bee is better than no bees. And what a brave bee she was in the cold weather....I hope she got back to her nest safely......

We have strong and cold winds today.....rain is expected all week......hope your weather warms up soon....

Have a happy and healthy week......

I have seen quite a few bugs in the garden this spring, though it hasn't been too warm as yet. I have also seen several large bumble bees. Now, it may have been the same one several times, but each sighting was in a different location.
The birds love the grapes obviously. I hope if I come back as a bird, I'm a seed eater, and not a bug eater..!

I think I saw two bugs in our garden Sunday...a bumblebee and a ladybug. Well, the timing isn't always right catch those bugs in the open.

40 different birds is a lot! This year I think we have maybe 5-7 species spotted in the yard so far.
