In the moment

November teaches me to live in the moment.

She teaches me to celebrate the Marigold.

Each Autumn I gather my seed.

Each Spring I sow my seed.

In November,
when the other flowers have sung their swan song

the Marigolds keep blooming.

They provide nourishment.

They provide flowers for my tables.

I am very fond of the Marigold.

Indian Summer continues in my gardens.

I know it will soon come to an end.

I cherish these warm November days.

I cherish my time with the bugs and the birds.

What beautiful birds and a precious gourd feeder. I thought of you today. I was at the park and saw 2 ducks that I couldn't identify. I know they must be migrating and I think they might be Merganzers. I'll post them one day soon and maybe you will know! Wish you had been with me! I was excited!

I love marigolds too! They are so colourful and do make the fall garden look pretty. You've got some excellent shots of the butterflies and little bee. We also are having a nice few days - warm and sunny.
Happy November!

My little sisters, the birds, much bounden are ye unto God, your Creator, and always in every place ought ye to praise Him, for that He hath given you liberty to fly about everywhere, and hath also given you double and triple rainment; moreover He preserved your seed in the ark of Noah, that your race might not perish out of the world; still more are ye beholden to Him for the element of the air which He hath appointed for you; beyond all this, ye sow not, neither do you reap; and God feedeth you, and giveth you the streams and fountains for your drink; the mountains and valleys for your refuge and the high trees whereon to make your nests; and because ye know not how to spin or sow, God clotheth you, you and your children; wherefore your Creator loveth you much, seeing that He hath bestowed on you so many benefits; and therefore, my little sisters, beware of the sin of ingratitude, and study always to give praises unto God.

You certainly do live in a world of grand colours. They seem to project from your very being.

Its been a warm autumn for the lowlands of the northwest so far too. But we have been getting a lot of rain, wind, and gray skies recently.

Dear Sherry......tku for sharing the bees and butterflies.....as always your photography inspires.
Marigolds are so bright and colourful......I still have some in bloom. I must say I have never seen a butterfly on them....it is delightful to see your blooms being used by so many insects......

It is so cold and damp here. I shall wrap up warm when I leave the house this morning. Little hat is proving so useful (no cold ears for me).

Have a happy week......

You are oh so right about cherishing these last days of warm weather Sherry. I love your series of marigolds and butterflies. They almost make me want to start a butterfly series of paintings. I might do that this winter. I am amazed at all the bugs you have in your garden. Our garden seems to be devoid of anything but ladybugs and gnats.

An inspiration for us all, Sherry! I love the bird feeder and the first photo of the bird peeking out of it. Did you make it? I'm enjoying this Indian Summer weather, too, all the more precious because we really don't know how long it will last.

I love all your photos of marigolds with butterflies and bees on them, Sherry. I have marigolds still flowering here too - like you we're having a very mild November this year. Last year we had heavy frosts and ice about this time and I had to stop gardening so early, I'm still catching up!
