Sunday Safari

We stayed home today.
Light snow showers kept us inside.

The Red Wing Blackbird came to the feeders.

I seldom see him.
He is a countryside bird not a city bird.

Snow showers bring lots of birds to the feeders.

The squirrels also come onto the deck for nuts.
I long ago quit chasing them away.

Our outing this weekend was Friday night.

We watched the Lion Dance.
Liang Patti performed an amazing acrobat program.

My books are entertaining me.

I am learning about healing baths.

I am making my cosmetics.

There are many ways to enjoy these end of Winter days.

It is my husband's birthday.

We are going to bake cookies this evening.
Happy Sunday safari.

I have never seen a red wing blackbird and don't know if they've come when I haven't been looking or just don't come at all. They really look pretty. Happy birthday to your husband;-)

Happy Birthday to Hubby! Hope he had a good one.

You've got some nice pics of red-winged blackbirds. We don't see any for a while yet. They're still enjoying the warmth of their vacation homes!

I've made my own face cream before. I loved the process. Haven't done it for a couple of years now. Will be nice to do again.

You have lots of interesting projects for end of winter.

Beautiful pictures of the Red-Winged Blackbirds. We have some around the farm but not as many as I would have thought.

Happy Birthday to your husband. Baking cookies is a good way to spend a winter evening.

Happy birthday to your husband! I haven't seen a redwing blackbird at our feeders in a while. Hmmm. Your photos are lovely, and I think I need that pampering book :) It felt good to read "these end of winter days" in your post. Ahh yes, there is hope and spring will be here soon. In the meantime, pampering sounds great! -Tammy

red wing blackbirds are one of the more common birds around here, but they look a little different, I think. I love their call.

Good to know the redwings are making their way north, and will be here in another month! I have never seen one as close as these, so the details in your photos are amazing to me!!! Thank you!

I love the song of the red wing blackbirds. Sometimes they are here for a month or so during the summer. They always enthrall me.

The Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) arrives early spring in our backyard. The birds may winter as far north as Pennsylvania and British Columbia, but northern populations are generally migratory, moving south to Mexico and the southern United States. Seeds and insects make up the bulk of the Red-winged Blackbird's diet.
Happy Birthday to your husband.

A belated Happy Birthday to your husband! We've had blizzard-like conditions the past two days, and the birds have just been flocking to my feeders. Not only have they kept me entertained, but they've entertained Sophie and Toby the cat as well. They have been glued to the living room window:)
