Ides of March

It is the Ides of March,
beware!

The sun came out this afternoon.

                                                            The crocus opened.

I was pleased to be out in the sunshine.
When I came in it was already 7pm.
It takes me a few weeks to get used to
                                                               Daylight Saving time.

The birds are always on sun time.
I was very pleased to see sprouts
 in the winter sowed containers.

I have four containers of Sweet William
and two of Lulu Lupine.

All 6 were sowed on February 6th.

I wrote all about the sprouts and the crocus
in my Garden Journal my friend sent.

I keep a record of the birds and bugs too.

This Book of Days is almost filled.
2010 will be the last year for this book.
There are lots of birds and bugs that call every year.

I looked in my winter sown seed jugs and saw nothing green. I hope I get something coming up soon. It is so exciting to see your seedlings. I also want some sunshine. UGH. So grey, windy and cool. Your journals are cool.

I didn't do any outdoor winter sowing this year, but I have a few things inside that are doing pretty well.

Love the pictures of the purple crocus and the Mourning Dove.

These are amazing photos. The crocus flowers in the sunlight are breathtaking beautiful, especially the close-ups.

I love crocus...they always appear to be so fragile.

It is good to see shoots appear.....new plants for the garden. It always fills me with much hope of what is to come.

I am keeping a garden journal and using my new pens to illustrate some of the pages....so fun, tku.
