We will be in the dark of the moon now until the Full Pink Moon.
Now is a good time to plant root vegetables.
Thundershowers are in the forecast for tonight.
A strong wind from the southwest has flatten many of the flowers.
I sat with the daffodils just in case the wind and severe
weather damages them.
Having daffodil time is always a delight in the Spring.
Baltimore Orioles and the Hummingbirds to arrive.
The Juncos will leave soon for their northern breeding areas.
Soon I will put out oranges and grapes for the Orioles.
The wild violets are opening.
I saw Mason bees in the Spicebushes.
It is early for the Mason bees to nest but just in case
we like to be ready.
I have my sun hats out.
The temperatures will moderate but today is hot!
The Christmas cactus has re-bloomed
My husband brought in a chrysalis he found the first of March when he clean up the hops vine. I placed it in a bowl of dried flowers.
What an honor to see this miracle of nature.
I celebrate the bee in April.
Each day I do something to honor this noble creature.
I collect bee lore.
Today I once again fall in love with the Moon.
After reading The Illustrated Cottage I have been inspired.
I love the Art Nouveau style. Yet my home and gardens are much different.
I look around and see my photographs on the wall. I see the art work my children did when they were young. I see family photographs and lovely reminders of our parents and Grandparents. I see the woodworking my husband has done. I see the gifts from family and friends. I see birds, bees, butterflies and buds.
I see beautiful. I see a wabi-sabi home.
I am in love with our music and baseball on radio.
I am in love with April.
I shall look for the Bee in the sky.
It is near the Pleiades, my favorite constellation.
I am falling in love; head over heels.
I am falling in love with this life I am living.
May you fall in love with your life this April.

What an interesting post. April sounds like it will be a good month this year. I love your bee box and hope you have bees nest in it.
Your daffys look so cheerful and happy. I hope the wind didn't take them down.
I like the christmas cactus and am amazed that it's blooming in spring! I was going to say "keep warm", but it looks like it's too warm now! Never mind. Enjoy the season.

Thank you for this beautiful post. Just what I needed. Alas, my bees did not survive the winter. A storm blew the hive tops off and the cOld rain got in. It is still very cold here and I have been frustrated, not able to garden or enjoy being outside. Your post helps me experience spring vicariously!

My boxes are full of bees.....I am waiting for them to emerge. I do hope they survived the severe winter.

Daffodils are my favourite garden flower, they are so cheerful after a hard Winter.
Do you think if I put grapes and oranges in my garden you could persuade an Oriole to visit me...;)
What a joyous post, Sherry! I love this time of year, too, with its feeling of rebirth and renewal--sometimes I think I'm coming out of hibernation, too. I hope the storms missed you this weekend; we had the strong winds on Sunday, too, but fortunately got a much-needed gentle rain on Monday morning.
Your mockingbird doesn't look like he's willing to share his raisins with anyone:)
What a beautiful post, full of photos and personality. You are WAY ahead of us in the Seattle area...there was snow falling where I live this morning! Our mason bees haven't even come out of their nesting boxes yet. We'll be catching up to you though, and soon enjoying all the pleasures of spring you have shown us from your neck of the woods.
