Sunday Safari

The Carolina Wren sounded off
 first thing this morning.

The Northern Cardinals have finished their molt.

The Chick-a-dees
and Mocking Birds come and go.
Their lives are as they should be.

It is ten years later.
We remember.

We will always remember.

I walked the gardens.
I spent time with the butterflies.

We made fig preserves
for our Harvest Moon celebration.

I took care of the caterpillars.

Fresh milkweed for the Monarch

and fresh Queen Anne's Lace
for the 3 Black Swallowtails.

We will make our wishes on the
 Full Harvest Moon
as she rises tonight.

Happy Sunday Safari.

Hi Sherry, thanks for visiting my blog. Nice photos!
I really love Basho too and my favorite haiku has to be Nomi shirami

Delightfully earthy and conveys the feeling of having to put up with substandard accommodation :D

Dear Sherry,

I warched the moon last night. It was a hazy moon, so mellow/
I thought of your far away and yet so close.
Your gardens are a paradise, they touch my soul and give me such hope for the birds and butterflies in your area.
Tku for taking care of the caterpillars :)

9/11 will never be forgotten.....it was the day the world cried.

Such a sad day. It is good to see so much beauty when such an ugly act was remembered.

A lovely way to remember that sad day 10 years ago. May we all find such peace.

Hi Sherry,
Thanks for your sending prayers my way re: the drought and fires.
I really like all the butterflies you posted and that black swallowtail on Queen Anne's Lace is a gorgeous shot.
Happy Safaris.

I just love fig jam (I need to buy mine, though...). You have so many butterfly visitors - they're attracted to your habitat. Soon fall will be here - can you believe we're already putting summer to bed?

What a beautiful post! Your birds and butterflies look so cared for in your garden.

Your fig jam looks scrumptious! Happy Harvest Moon. It is good to read happy news on this reminder of a very sad day.
