with highs into the 60's.
My indoor gardens are blooming nicely.
The mums
and geraniums are cheerful.
I have returned to my housework.
I learned January 7th is called "St. Distaff Day".
It is the day after the Epiphany, the day after the twelve days of
Christmas. It was the day the ladies returned to their spinning.
I have returned to my distaff and my spinning.
I have returned to my writing.
I have returned to my reading.
We are refining our home and gardens.
We are working room by room and flowerbed by flowerbed.
We are embracing simplicity.
We are letting go of items we no longer need.
We are creating harmony.
We are finding our place of ease.
Our celebration of Chinese New Year has begun.
I am very excited that 2012 is the year of the Dragon.
My rose hips make wonderful healing tea.
They are full of vitamin c.
I have made a note to gather more for next winter.
Kuan Yin
watches over my day.
The more I learn the more I understand.
She is lovely.
My dear friend is an artist.
Years ago she painted a watercolor for me.
It is framed and hanging in my January kitchen.
I do hope for gentle showers.
I will make a wish.
Happy Sunday Safari.
Happy Sunday Safari.

I felt like howling this morning when I let Luna outside. It was as bright as some winter days with the moon looking full. All of your Asian touches are nice. I have tried to simplify. I am not all that simple so it seems. :/ All is well and good though.
I'm spending some part of every day doing extra cleaning! It feels good to wash rugs and blankets! I love a clean...less cluttered house! The last little fairy image is precious! Happy Sunday! ♥
Your words are a poem for the start of a new year. You remind me to wish on the moon. It comes at a good time for me. Your photos rest my spirit. (Though that red geranium does provide a jolt.)
Simplicity is a good word to embrace this year. I need to do some major uncluttering here:) All your Asian accents are lovely, especially the beautiful watercolor from your friend. Happy Year of the Dragon!
Sherry, I forgot to add--I am going to sort through my seed basket soon. If you send me your address, I'll mail you some of those white cosmos seeds. My email is prairierose150@gmail.com.
What a peaceful, tranquil post. I love the watercolor painting your friend did for you.
Dear Sherry,
Love the Asian theme....very beautiful, simplistic in style.
I de-clutter each winter. I need to. It somehow makes me feel more whole.
I love the last image......conjours up all sort of things in my mind :)
Sherry,
Tell me you did not find that Hackberry Emperor butterfly on Sunday? I did see my first butterfly of the year on Friday a sulphur something one might expect. Emperors should be several month finished is why I asked.
I love the harmony motif. Happy 2012!
a lovely post dear lady
overflowing with inspiration and wisdom
yes, lightening our belongings lights our spirit, frees our time and brings fresh air.... i think i will do some of this too. lovely wolf moon to you ~
How warm it's been where you are! I feel peace and harmony as I read your post.
The bamboo picture from your friend is lovely. How thoughtful of her to give it to you.
My indoor gardens are doing well too. I've never been able to overwinter a geranium, but maybe next year as there is a lot of sun coming in my living room window.
Happy year of the Dragon and may you find simplicity in this year.
We are also experiencing unseasonably warm weather & miss the snow (although no one else seems to) :-)
I love the serenity you have brought to your home in celebration of Chinese New Year. You have a wonderful collection.
A spinning wheel is something I have always wanted ~ yours is lovely!
