Summer's heat and humidity.
Morning rain showers left us with half an inch.
I went to the gardens when the rain stopped.
I sat with the chamomile.
With an 80% chance of evening severe weather
I was concerned the chamomile
would be beaten down by morning.
The lawn is full of clover.
I am always careful where I step.
I am very fond of clover.
It is a wonderful food source.
Eastern Tailed Blues and
Gray Hairstreaks
are only a few of the small butterflies
that nectar in clover.
A female Horace's Duskywing surprised me.
She is new to my backyard.
The Asiatic Lilies are blooming.
Every bit a month ahead.
The lavender is ready to harvest.
Our unsettled air has spawned severe weather.
We are in tornado season.
My husband and I joined the Astronomical Society
of Kansas City.
We enjoy being with other star gazers.
It is the first Sunday of the month.
It is Dragon Sunday.
Rain Dragons can be dangerous.
We have had enough rain for awhile.
I think I will ask the Dragons to visit my friends in Colorado.
We are watching for tornadoes.
Happy Sunday Safari.

I absolutely love this series of photos of the bugs on the chamomile and clover. They make my heart sing. I hope no tornadoes come through your area. The storms aren't to arrive here until tomorrow. We still need rain. We are still behind. Were you able to get out and see the Super Moon??
Dear Sherry,
The insects on the camomile are wonderful. Such a useful herb for everyone......I love camomile tea with honey :)
Your garden is an oasis for wildlife.....I am so happy to see your bugs.
I hope the tornadoes stay away from your area.
We had another half inch of rain last night.....that is eight inches in four weeks....ridiculous.
My borders are full of puddles :(
I would gaze at the moon, if only I could see beyond the clouds that cover it :(
I'm a weather channel junkie and I always go on alert when I hear severe weather in your area. Your Chamomile is so lovely---I haven't planted any this season and what I had has died out. I may sprinkle seeds today :)
Oh! Stay safe! A most fascinating look at insects on the chamomile.
Really amazing photos of the bugs --I love them!
I do hope that bad weather doesn't hit you Sherry!!
Your photos are as lovely as always. So good to see your beautiful butterflies and bees. There are no butterflies around here at all at the moment, it is far too wet and cold also :-(
Stay safe Sherry, happy May to you!
Oh, I hope the tornados stay away! We still have not had much rain and I wonder if our summer will be wet.
You really have a way with your camera - those bugs look so busy and intent making for very captivating photos!
What a lovely collection of butterflies & insects. The weather over here in the UK has been very wet and cold recently,so its been a relatively quiet time for butterflies.
