The rains came

The rain barrels are full again.
I went out in the rain and picked zucchini for supper.
Grilled, rain washed, freshly picked, zucchini sandwiches, you can't get that in a restaurant!

  1. Sweet Dove enjoying the rain. We had anticipated showers ...they didn't come. Thankfully it is a bit cooler tonight.

  2. It's still raining a bit this morning. Sort of off and on. We are enjoying it and the plants are, too.

J, once a farmer always a farmer, will check the soil to see how much more we need. We are loving seeing the beautiful Missouri River come back. It's nice to cross the river and not see the sand bars that have been there, the past couple of years or so.

    We have flash flood warnings.

  3. Dear Deb,
I did like the reflection of the Dove in the rain on the deck.
I am always grateful for a cool down when the humidity is high too.
    You are due some rain.
Hopefully when it comes it will be a gentle soaking one!

  4. Dear Pat,
I so hope no floods! I remember when the Missouri River floaded a few years ago. I once drove from New Oreleans to Kansas City in a terrible rain storm. The Misssisssippi was floading and I was on the highway next to it. The rains continued as the water rushed across the highway. I kept driving hoping my car would not "hydroplane". It lasted six hours. I was out of the storm by the time I made it to Memphis.
The Missouri River is a mighty beautiful one!
    I do love rainy days!

  7. My Dear Sprite,
    My husband likes my food!
I do too when I can pick it from the garden.
I do love the rainy days but I know the tomatoes need the sun as do the butterflies!

  8. Dear Mari-Nanci,
We will be eating from the garden as much as possible now. The deer ate the green beans. I might replant this weekend for a August picking.
Fresh from the garden is fresh!
