Laughter

My eyes were drawn
to the Heavenly Blue Morning Glories
this morning.

In flew the American Gold Finch.
In flew the Cloudless Sulphur.
I began laughing.
Birds, butterflies, blooms and
a southerly breeze kept me outside.

The Cloudless Sulphur is a medium-sized butterfly.
They nectar in morning glories and zinnias.

As I was coming in I saw a Clouded Sulphur basking.

  2. Dear Barbara,
Nature does the best! I am wondering if a Tiger Swallowtail would ever be interested in blue flowers? I think that combo would be beautiful too..
Thank you, I do seem to like taking pictures....

  6. Dear Nita,
I too will miss the butterflies.
In the winter I spend lots of time outside with the birds. I do love them too. Once in awhile in the winter, if the temperatures rise, a butterfly will come out for water and any nectar it can find. I like to put bananas out for them...

  7. Beautiful! I think I tried to get a picture of a finch through my kitchen window screen...not one of my finer pix. LOL I did get a couple of Editor's Picks on my Better Photo site - you should look into that. Think I mentioned it before...And your videos are great - aren't you glad? Thanks for visiting my place.

  8. Dear Sue,
Congratulations! Your photos are beautiful too. I sort of hide over here on Corner! LOL... I think of Corner as my service.
One of these days I will "submit" something. I always think there is a better photo tomorrow!
I am very grateful to you for telling me about Photostory. It is easy to do and so much fun. I thought today as I was taking photos about how I wanted to do the slide show next Friday.
I enjoy my visits to your blog. It is a treat for me.

  9. Sherry,

No one can say goldfinches are not brilliant. I just love their happy, bright color, and the way they glide up and down in flight.

    Hugs,
    Mary

    Thanks for brightening my day!

  10. Dear Mary,
I am wild for blue and yelllow!
The Gold Finches are sweet birds. I like their little call. Soon the males will molt and get thier Winter dress.
I will miss the butterflies and the Hummingbirds this winter. I am trying to spend as much time possible with them now.
Autumn is the time of sweet goodbyes...
