Common Wood Nymph

We celebrated our
36th Wedding Anniversary yesterday.

We went bug hunting.
It is what we like to do.

We saw a Common Wood Nymph for the first time.

We both carried cameras.
We clicked together.

  4. Happy(belated)36th! I wish you both at least another 36 years together. Your wood nymph is lovely. The colour reminds me of velvet; soft and inviting. You two are inspirational!
BTW; thank you for your good thoughts for my friend. I believe everything helps in matters like that. :)

  6. Dear Mimi,
I was struck by the way we both were snapping away at the same butterfly. Side by side we were with different lens. (My pictures turned out best!LOL)

  10. What a special anniversary gift! Both of you seeing a Wood Nymph for the first time.

I think it's in the Chinese language (I could be mistaken) where the word "butterfly" and "soul" are the same. Congratulations!

  11. Great shot of the wood nymph.
    Best wishes to your anniversary.
In 2009 we are celebrating our 30th anniversary. We got married on Christmas Day in a Danish Lutheran Church in Toronto.

  14. Dear Vikki,
Thank you! I did not post on our special day since we were out and about! My husband took the day off work and we had a fun filled, buggy day.
    I also think the Wood Nymph has a velvety look to her. I love the yellow with eye spots too. She spent most of her time wings up;
    we waited for wings open.
I will keep your dear friend in my prayers. I too believe in the power of prayer.
I will check in and see how she And you are doing.
    Hugs,
    Sherry

  15. Dear Cat,
Thank you. My husbamd and I are a pair. We do enjoy birds and bugs and blooms. I think the cameras have given a new level of fun to our lives. Not only can we watch the birds, bugs and blooms but we can take pictures, have slide shows and id later. I bet we have seen lots over the years but did not have any way of iding.
Hopefully we will be snapping away for another 36 years.

  17. Dear Wendy,
I think you are right. My husband and I are soul mates...best of friends...we fly with the butterflies.
He is very supportive of my relationships with the bugs and the birds. Even when the birds eat better than we do he doesn't complain.
    Thank you for your friendship,
    Sherry

  18. Dear Gisela,
A charming place to say, "I do" I bet! I think it is very important for couples to celebrate their special day; it can so simple as a walk in the park.

  19. Dear Mari-Nanci,
Thank you. I agree! First time seeing this charmer for us. I have been reading about how some butterflies fly at only certain times of the year. Others are hidden so well in the woods you rarely see them.
Now is the time the female Wood Nymph is laying eggs. Maybe that is why we are seeing her.
