Monarch

The sunflower seeds I planted
are blooming.

The Monarch and the Sunflower
are end of summer motifs at my house.

I will print and frame one of these.

Monarch and Bright Eyes Cosmos
are also end of summer.

I just might need to print and frame one of these too!

  3. Sherry, if you printed and framed every on worth framing, you could fill the walls of the White House.

    You are amazing. They're beautiful.

  4. These are all worthy of printing and framing Sherry. I think that first one is calling me to paint it. Of course the one with the cosmos is great too. Getting the light right in a painting would be a challenge and quite the reward if I could do it.

  6. Sherry- Thanks for the monarch photos. They're all beautiful but that top one is exquisite.

Okay, on the list for next year...sunflowers, cosmos, tithonia, butterfly bush, asclepias ....and of course, lantana again. Maybe a more powerful camera too. Ha ha ha. I do like looking at your photos to see if I can find the same guys in my backyard. :-)

  7. Yes, I would print all pictures and make a collage.
Just beautiful the colour and I love sunflowers.
Every year I plant some seeds, but never get any sunflowers to bloom. Why??
Because of the squirrels, nice to watch but not in my garden.

  10. Sherry, You could have a whole wall of butterfly prints! That would be a cheery thing to look at in the cold of winter. I love monarchs; we haven't seen many this year around here.

  12. Dear Lynne,
I did one 8x10 of the Sunflower and the Monarch up close. I am very pleased with it! It is in a large frame with a mat. I will store it in my August decorations.
    Now to do the others!

  16. Dear Cheryl,
I did end up printing all four. I did one 8x10 and the others as 3 1/2 x 5's. I have very cute sunflower frames for the smaller ones too.
    Very fun!

  18. Dear Gisela,
I do like the idea of making a collage. I used to do them. Maybe a bit of creative work is in order here.
    Thank you for the idea.
The squirrels can be a big bother. They also eat my sunflowers. I try to plant lots and make sure there are lots of nuts about. Still some years if the squirrels do not get my sunflowers the deer do! This year I tucked a bunch of sunflowers right next to the house. So far so good!
