Hunting

After lunch we stopped at the park
to hunt for bugs.

A Red Tailed Hawk was perched
on one of the arbors in the rose garden.

He was an attraction.
A spokesman for the raptors.

We found lots of Skippers and bees.
Seeing the American Snout was a special treat.

  4. Hi Sherry
Looking forward to catching up on missed post while I've been on holidays! We moved Kate into her new apartment (which is surrounded by a large wooded area) and saw 2 hawks and a groundhog on the first day :-) Your photos of the red-tailed hawk are spectacular.

  8. Dear Cheryl,
I was so impressed...lots of park goers did not know what kind of bird he was. I was so happpy to share a bit of Hawk info.
Today while walking I found a very large feather. My husband thought it was a Hawk feather.
In the American Indian tradition the Hawk is a messanger. I wonder what he is saying?

  9. Dear Rose,
I also love watching the Hawks. A pair of Red-tails hunt my backyard. I have seen them land in the trees before. Big and beautiful birds.

  11. Dear Mary,
I was very close. He seemed interested in all the people. He watched them for the longest time. My husband and I had to go. We left Mr. Red-tailed watching the people come and go in the rose garden.
