Autumn

Welcome to Autumn!

The dew was heavy on the mums
this morning as Autumn came in.

The colors are bright in the morning sun.

The Giant Swallowtail flew in

and showed me the palette
of the Season.
Happy Autumn.

  5. I agree with Maria - your photos couldn't get any better. I also love that bright bluejay. Why do we seem to see them better in the fall? They have such a presence in the fall, colours are brighter and they seem to be louder and noisier than in the spring. Or maybe I've forgotten.

  8. Dear Vikki,
This Blue Jay has become my new best bird friend! He stays around the feeders all day and is so close I could pat him. I think I will get some peanuts in the shell and see if he will take one from me.
    He is a pretty bird!

  9. Dear Marmee,
Yes, he is sitting on a basket full of yellow squash! I had picked the last of the squash.
I think he looks very smart perched up on the basket.
I am adding blue to my October decorating too.
Mother Nature is teaching me my color combinations.

  10. Dear Maria,
    Thank you.
I did think Mr. Jay was so pretty, perched on the basket with the yellow squash. I took many pictures of him.
Mother Nature is very nice about providing me with interesting pictures to take.
Autumn is a grand time of the year for beautiful photographs. The light becomes softer and the colors so vivid.

  11. Dear Wendy,
I agrree. The Blue Jays seem to be around more in the Fall than in the Spring. I think they are very beautiful birds.
Not pretty singers like the Cardinals or the Wrens but they have an interesting personality.
    Thank you.
I do love to take pictures.
