From March until October
the Dragonfly kite and the Butterfly kite
hang on the wall in the stairwell.
Their kite string and tails are ready to go.
Last week we bought a Dragon kite.
Today was his first flight.
When a 23 mph gust came up
I let all the string out
so Butterfly could wiggled her tails.
wouldn't be awful if the turkey vulture attack one the kites. The dragon kite is cool looking.
ReplyDeleteSherry what wonderful FUN!Those kites of yours are works of colorful art!!
ReplyDeleteShadows are fun too!Happy Spring to you!
How fun!! I love the kites - they truly are the most gorgeous kites I've ever seen. Haven't flown a kite since our son (now almost 28) was about 8 or 9. We really used to enjoy that. Thanks for sharing your fun! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteI have never flown a kite. it looks like loads of fun.
ReplyDeleteDear Sherry......such fun. I love to go to a large London park and watch people flying their kites. The sky full of colour.....
ReplyDeleteI love shadows.....always fascinate me...
Have a lovely weekend and hold on tight to that string......
Your kites do look great fun :-) Was the vulture amused or angry! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo much color, so much fun. I bet your heart was soaring as high as the kites.
ReplyDeleteHave you read the book 'Kite Runner'? It is a sad/happy book. Interesting story.
Sherry,
ReplyDeleteTalk about brightening up ones day! Wow those kites look so fun. The first one I would enjoy having one of those.
The kites are very beautiful. Lucky one wasn't a Pigeon Kkite otherwise the Turkey vulture might have been tempted!
ReplyDeleteHola Sherry,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post!
I've been told that there are a few places to flight kites here, so I'm going to try it later on in the year :)
Besos,
Mel
What lovely kites you have! I have never seen anything like the dragonfly before!!
ReplyDeleteThose kites are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOhh the kites are wonderful! Good idea, I haven't flown a kite in years.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Maybe next year, when our grandson is 3, we'll get a kite and take him somewhere to fly it.
ReplyDeleteI have been busy with a kitchen remodel. Spring has taken its time, but appears to be here now. I hope to get some gardening in this week.
Happy spring!
I forgot to say how much I enjoyed your photos! Your kites are beautiful, and at first I thought the eagle was going to be one, too.
ReplyDeleteSherry, Nothing says Spring like kite flying and you captured your day perfectly. The dragon fly looks real, and the juxtaposition of the buzzard is very cool. We're never too old to play are we? Loved this post!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to pick a favorite photo here - all are so colorful and creative!
ReplyDeleteOhhh! I want one of each! They're just beautiful!
