The Black capped Chick-a-dees are around all year. They seem to have a whiter belly and a slower "chick-a-dee-dee" song.
Both types are friendly.

Chick-a-dees
I am seeing more Carolina Chick-a-dees. They have a tan belly. The males and females look the same. The Carolina Chick-a-dee has a fast song, "chika-dee-dee-dee-dee". 
The Black capped Chick-a-dees are around all year. They seem to have a whiter belly and a slower "chick-a-dee-dee" song.
Both types are friendly.
