Northern Harrier

A female Northern Harrier circled over the house.
She is a small low-flying Hawk.
Her wing span is about 24 inches (60cm).

She hunts for mice and small birds.
I had never seen one before.

Sherry - WOW! Hawk are very difficult to follow for me if I'm using a zoom. You did a great job with this series.

Great pics, Q. I hope the hawk leaves your small birds alone!

Hi Mary,
Taking Hawk photos is hard. They seem to disappear in the sunlight. I am needing a filter!
Soon I will get one and hopefully my Hawks will be clear and crisp.
This is a "lifer" for me too.

Dear Chris,
Oh, I do agree. No birdies!!!
I think with all the seed I might have a mouse or two for Hawks supper.
