Bright Sunday

The mid-day light
was bright.
The leaves shine like a second sun.
The butterflies are tattered.
The air is warm.
Cold front coming in.
It is dark before it is even time for supper.

Love seeing your butterflies still around! With our lake effect predictions, I just might have to visit your site to warm up!

Love seeing your butterflies still coming around. It was a gorgeous day here too. Happy day. If the Colts would have won it would have been a perfect day. :/

Dear Sherry,

The Maple tree is gorgeous! I hope your weekend was lovely. The butterflies look worn out.

I am sure feeling the weather about to get cold again. It was so beautiful this weekend.

Lovingly,

What a difference the hour makes.
The trees here are changing all at once, and the leaves are falling almost immediately. You photos are so colour filled still. The ragged butterfly is beautiful, and the pink of the flower too.

Hi Mon@rch,
Looks as if cold air is coming my way too! I might have a day or two left before killing frost.
We may need to go all the way to Mexico soon.

Hi Lisa,
I watched an Orange Sulphur this afternoon. Not looking for food just sunning!
Both of the teams are so good! I also was hoping the Colts would win.

Dear Sprite,
I have enjoyed the front Maple tree so very much this Autumn. Today she is dropping her leaves. The front yard looks November perfect!
Cold air is coming in. The wind is brisk! Brr....
Lovely weekend for sure. We will have more warm days...Indian Summer is just around the corner.

Hi Sheila,
I will miss the butterflies!
The birds are getting used to me again. I will have lots of bird time until Spring!
When we fall back I feel more "normal". I already do sun time so my inner clock matches up now.
It does seem as if the trees let go of their leaves all at once!
I love the way they dance about in the yard.

I can't believe you still have many butterflies. We will have a killer frost in a few days. And I am very unhappy when the sun sets at 6pm...sigh.

I'll make the best of it.

Dear Mary,
I watched lots of butterflies besides these. The Orange Sulphurs were out as were lots and lots of Skippers. Yes, the darkness comes so early now. We will make it to Solstice! Once the winter comes in we know spring is just around the bend.
Killing frost tonight for me. Although many of the zinnias and marigolds already were nipped. Tonight the impatience and the geraniums will go. I don't mind. The mums should still be okay.
I plan on cleaning my house sometime in November. It really needs it!
