Isn't it amazing how fast the snow melts away with the right conditions. It didn't get so warm here today. The streets did melt off on the city streets with the sun out.
Dear Sue, Thank you! I am looking at the entire month as Winter Holiday! I will be leaving early Friday morning. The way schedules worked out, our son will be here while we are gone! I am pleased to have such a great house sitter. May you also have a nice Winter Holiday! Spring is only three months away! Sherry
Dear Lisa, I like to see the melting! The ice and snow are almost gone today. One more day of sun and all should be melted. We need a break! Glad you are melting a bit too. Once the streets are cleared we can get out a bit and really enjoy the snow! Sherry
Dear Cathy, Hope the sleet part of you winter storm was short lived. I have been trying to follow the national weather a bit more since all the winter storms have begun. It looks as if the Northeast has had a time of it too. LOL! He is not the wild party type and a bit too old for that sort of thing! If he wanted to have friends over I would not mind. Hope you are staying safe and warm. Sherry
Dear Tom, Still to cold for the butterflies! I do miss them. Thank goodness the birds are about. Lots and lots of birds. Having the ice gone is nice. I was able to sit on my favorite lounge chair on the deck and be comfortable! The ice and snow was dramatic. I noticed when I walked I was not as impressed with the trees without the ice! I am looking for different varieties of birds now. The Pine Skins are still here as are the Nuthatches. I hear the Flickers but have yet to see them in the yard. Hope you can dig out. I saw on the news New York was hit with a huge storm. Sherry
Dear Marvin, The sun makes the difference! I hope all of the snow melts today and travel is safe for everyone, including me! Last year we were in the blizzards that hit the mid-west. Terrible storms! This Christmas I hope for clear skies. Sherry
Beautiful shots.. Our snow has stopped but it will stay on the ground now. The birds have a respite at least. I have only seen a few Geese in the last few day, and a pair of squirrels. Most of our wildlife is hibernating, or has gone South. how smart they are..!
You are leaving on the Winter Solstice and will view the Full Moon on Sunday, from your destination. If I can see the Full Moon here, I will think of you.
Have a lovely Christmas and New Years. I'll miss you, though. I have come to need the peace I find, in all your blogs.
Dear Sheila, Having a big snow storm is always exciting! We have a few every year. They are pretty. I do understand the desire to go south!Stay warm. Sherry
Dear Mary, I hope the weather stays warm long enough for me to get out of town and back! I was concerned while my son was on the road. I too am glad he is here. We are having fun. The birds are so funny. They do see me and look at me. I often wonder what they think! I am ready for a couple of new species to come in. That is always exciting! Sherry
Dear Meggie, Thank you! We are having a fun visit with our son. Than off to be with our daughter! One of these days it will work out all of us can be together at the same time. I am so glad you enjoy the photos. It is fun to sit with the birds. Sherry
Dear Mari-Nanci, Traveling on the Solstice seems to be a good day for me! We will be gone at Full Cold Moon. Thank you for thinking of me. If I can I will post on my Holiday Blog while I am gone. My daughter has everything set up at her house so I can. I just need to take some pictures in-between hugging her! I would love to give you the gift of serenity. Please do accept it. Wear this serenity like a warm cloak. Drink it in like sparkling, clean water. I will be back on the 27th. Just a short trip to Portland, Oregon. Blessings, Sherry
Dear Mari-Nanci, I feel your warm embrace. Thank you! I need all the hugs and blessings I can get! I shall save a couple to unwrap on the Full Cold Moon. Enjoy serenity. She is a fine friend. Bird songs, Sherry

Well I got another dose of snow and sleet yesterday. Could do without the sleet part though. Glad to see you melting.
So what wild party is your son going throw while you are gone;)

looks a little cold for the butterflies but glad to see the snow is melting! You photos are stunning as always! Keep up the great work!
Such a dramatic change. I'll bet the birds (and you) are enjoying the sunshine.
Love the Chickadee Sherry. Have a wonderful time with your son and enjoy a festive Christmas.

What a lovely sentiment and expressed in such beautiful works. I love it. And yes, I will try to accept it and wrap myself in it and drink it in.
