New Snow Moon

Happy New Snow Moon

The Full Frost Moon gave way to the New Snow Moon.
The New Snow Moon will grow into the Full Cold Moon.

It is already full cold at my house.
Sixteen degrees at New Moon time.
Freezing drizzle coats the landscape.

What lovely names! Full Frost Moon... New Snow Moon... Full Cold Moon... I love them! Thank you for sharing.

It's been quite cold here, and will be today. Plus we have a Winter Storm Watch or some such, today. I don't mind snow but I don't like the freezing 'stuff.'

I so hope your freezing 'stuff' doesn't take down any power lines. Keep warm! :-))))

Brrrrrr this makes me cold just reading it. It is pouring rain here today. Not too cold tho.

The cardinal looks like it is in a snow globe.

Stay warm and safe. I hope you don't have to go any place today.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
The Native American Indians named the full moons. I named the new moons last year! Following the moon phases is a fun way of keeping track of the months.
Having a 13 moon year seems more "real" than the 12 month, western way. The joy is we can do both!
My husband has a generator ready for me in case the power does go out. I have had two times where the power was out for more than a couple of days. The last time I thought I would just head south (Florida looked good) for a week or so until the elecricity was back on. He brought home a generator.
We do have two fireplaces so I could stay warm but what about the camera, what about Corner?! LOL!
Stay warm and safe. No falling!

Dear Lisa,
I had hoped my photo would look like a Cardinal in a snow globe! Thank you!
This is a photo of the last full moon we had overlaid onto a cardinal in the last snow storm.
Rain is nice as long as it does not freeze. Hope you are enjoying being in.
I could have stayed in today but my husband offered a drive about so I could take photos in the woods of the snow and freezing mist. I enjoyed being out. He took me around in his truck so I was safe and warm. I had a hot cup of coffee in my to go mug too.
Happy New Moon!

Dear Chris,
I always think of you on New Moon.
I also am under a heavy cloud cover. The ceiling is so low that the radio and tv towers are lost in the clouds.
Stay warm too. The damp wet gets into my bones.
You are welcome, dear friend.

Dear Gisela,
Oh, Thank you!
Playing around with the photos is fun. I do like the overlays. I do them sometimes for Artfilled Life.
For new moon they work out nicely since I cannot get moon photos.
Glad you liked it.

I can't believe how cold it has been lately! After christmas . . I would be happy for it to warm up again! Save with my heating bills!

Dear Tom,
I too would rather have warmer temps! As it is I stay out for about 15 minutes and I must come in and warm back up.
I think the birds would like warmer too.
We will just have to stay warm and wait it out!

Dear Nita,
I do have the software, Photoshop, but have yet to install it! I use a little program known as Picasa. It is part of blogger. They have a "collage" where one can do the photo overlays and the mutli photos. I like the overlays. These are very simple to do. I am sure I would enjoy photoshop.
Thank you!

Dear Mary,
Thank you! I like using Miss Full Moon for my New Moon posts. These overlays are fun to create.
A little something different to look at!

Dearest Sprite,
Thank you.
She is so pretty! I did make a wish. LOL!
I watched Venus and the crescent moon the other morning. I thought of you. The wanning crescent is one of my favorite moons. I also like the waxing crescent. Oh, I like them all!
You are my moon friend.
You are my "girlfriend" in the moon.
I think of you as "Goddess of the Moon".
